Latest progress pics.. ZR1 wheels installed
About all thats left for exterior work is putting the IROC-Z decals back on the doors. I have them already but Im still undecided whether to put them on or not. I sort of like the sleak clean look.
Head on shot... Id love to edit this and put a thunderstorm with lighting striking behing it or something.
As always, tons of pics on my website.......

I was just starting to not like those wheels as much as I used to, and know they look beautiful. Your car is awesome! The clear side markers look great. I think if you leave the decals off or if you put them on, the car will look bad *** either way.

That Camaro looks bad ***. I love black Camaros done right. I would leave the IROC-Z decal off. The car has a smooth appearance to it.

I like the wheels and your car.. the paint is awesome. I have a black car as well and seeing yours makes me want to get a fresh coat of paint. How much did it cost you for the paint job?
I would put the decals on, just the IROC decals, not the stripes. That would keep it clean, and looking like an IROC. It seems to be missing something without them. Thats what Im doing with mine

I think the only thing I would do is put something in some sort of rfancy script on the side of the hood scoop. Something like "SuperRam 383". Make it look real fancy. With an engine like that you have to brag about it just a little.

you cant just switch out the axles to get wheels to fit right. the only two options you have to get 4th gen wheels like the SS wheels to fit correctly on a 3td gen is to 1: use 4 adatpers or 2: use 2 front adapters and then swap out the 3th gen rearend and install a 4th gen rearend. I chose the 2nd option since I already a spare 4th gen rear lying around from an old car and its really not the safest thing to use spacers on the rear if you have some power and use it at the drags a lot. Ive sold my wheels already becuz too many guys have them and I dont feel comfortable using spacers on the front of my car. It puts too much stress on the wheels bearings by pushing the center of the wheel out past the hub.

Ahh dug up an old thread... yeah, I swapped in a rear axle from a 2001 SS Camaro. Reason #1 was to get rear disc brakes and of course it helped with my wheel selection. I really like the ZR1 style and the 10 spoke SS style so having a rear that made those fit right was cool. I did put spacers on the front. (polished them up of course
).
Many people are regular road racers and use spacers with no problems. I don't see why some people are scared of them. Ive checked my tourqe twice since the initial install and mine are fine.

its not that Im worried about the lugs coming loose onmy spacers, its the fact that they put so much stree on the wheel bearings.
as for a 11" wheel fitting in the rear with a 4th gen rear, Ihave no clue. You might have to break out the trusty BFH

I really love the looks of the wheels on the car. I have been looking at them for a while now and I am going to get a set of black rims instead of chrome. Just one question though, what did you guys have to do to get the ZR1 wheels to fit on the car? I am going to go with the 17x9.5 wheels. Any help from anyone would greatly be appreciated.
