wheel painting
ok i got a question about painting wheels. i know alot of yall have polished your wheels, and painted the triangular areas between the spokes. what kind of paint do you use? could i just rattle-can it? my wheels came red from the factory, and the front ones are starting to chip pretty bad (as you can see from the pic below). my car's currently for sale, and i want to get them repainted, cause it adds alot to the car when they looked good. i called a couple of paint shops, but nobody would do it. i don't need it to last 20 years, i just want it to give the car a cleaner look....any suggestions? hopefully i can just pull off the wheels, tape it up, and spray away....would i have to strip the paint that's there, or could i just spray over?
yeah yeah, i know, the wheels are filthy...damn brake dust

My brother used Duplicolor High Temp Engine Enamel on his 16X8 IROCs 2 years ago and it still looks great. Just make sure to wash them, scuff them real good with with a scotch-brite pad, and then prep with alchohol (91% prefferably) before you paint. That way the new owners won't come back in 2 weeks and ask why all the paint is chipping off.

ive always used brush paint to paint rims, its easier than trying to tape around the edges, but i dont usually paint the whole rim either, just touch up
