removing rubber strip from door..

removing rubber strip from door..

how do you remove the rubber dent strips on the doors? one of my doors is dented and i need to get a new strip as well and im wondering how to remove the old one.. how is it attached? is it just double sided tape or something?

Exactly, that type of thing. Pull it off, then you can pull the spongey tape type stuff off too...to remove the adhesive and the tape, use a product like "Goof Off" or something..worked for me!

what worries me is that my car has been repainted....


and i think the door strips where left on when it was painted.. even though it doesnt really look it... it looks nice...

i want to take them off... but i fear that it will look like c rap under it...

Just pull it off a ways, and have a look at what the underside is like..if it's bad, worst case, you case re-adhere it on there...no biggie.
