Hi rise spoiler on car w/out it... can it work?

I have an 88 Iroc, and it has that fin thing on the back... can I take that off and put a hi rise on, or will there be a million holes under it?

Yes you can take it off...

There are 12 holes.....6 on the actual decklid, and 3 on each side....

Ok, hmm, maybe I'm better off finding a hatch with that spoiler...

The low rise ones that were on the ~87 base models; does that have the same mounting holes?

I think the middle holes might be in the same spot but i seen that they have 2 holes on the sides where the high rise only has 1. No big deal but i dunno if its exactly the same

A shop charged me $150 to fill all the holes......it's really not that expensive...

I would imagnie getting a whole new hatch would probally be more expensive and more of a hassle....

Also if you find a decklid you will still have 6 holes on the rear quarter panel. It would be way eaiser to have a shop weld up the holes.

On my hatch that Im putting on my car when I get the highrise I just fiberglassed the holes...If I use the hatch thats on the car now I'll just pull it next to the garage and mig weld it up

Or another solution is you could just go to a local junk yard and get a rear piece from a car that doesnt have a spoiler. Then there would be no holes.

It is a PITA to just change the decklid....

You run a GREAT risk of breaking the glass, then you gotta re-seal everything....
