I ordered my SS hood and i went down to get an estimate to piant the hood and frontend. Well the guy tld me the paint on my car is laquor (sp?) and the paint he deals with is the paint on the newer cars and it doesnt fade. He said my hood and frontend will stay the same color and the rest of the car will continue to fade over time. Im not sure what to do here. Has anybody else had this problem? Also will the newer paint and older paint match up pretty close in color?

 

All paints fade over time (some just worse than others), It will be hard to match paint to a color that has been fading for 18 years if your car has the original paint. Your best off painting the whole thing. If you can't afford it then don't expect it to perfectly match the day it comes out of paint nor three years from now. Your better off driving around with an unpainted hood for a year save some bucks and do it all at once.
