What do you think of this I saw a red Z vert at a show with a vinyl colored band and loved it, this is a crappy 10 second "select and fill" photoshop job, but what ya think?

I say no go.
Red especially would be a hard color to match. And if you did find a good match, the sun would definately fade the vinyl quickly. Thus resulting in mismatch.

I don't know why people put those on... I don't like them in any color.
But whatever you wanna do, its your car.

If I'm not mistaken Iroc2nv has something like that. I think Redraif does too. I'd go with some sort of windshield banner as opposed to just the color bar, altho some cars have done it right, and you don't really notice it. But as was said earlier, it's hard to match the color right.

Oh well I like it...on my car...
I think its the line of the hood with the vinyl...it gives the car a chopped top look.
I worked a long time to get a red that matches, but it fades quick. For me i just replace it myself now & again, so its no biggie when the color darkens!
Again not for everyone... When I took it off the last time I really looked at the car with it off and it looked like it was missing something. Even Joe and Mom agreed it looks better with...neither of which are fans of the stuff...
And since the law will not let me put the red matching window tint up there, I had to do something for my eyes...
See the color matches well...
Ok that gives you a variety of angles...

you have no idea how much i hate them. and the only reason i hate them is becuase when you take a look at them, you see the red from the roof, black weather stripping, than red vinyl. if you could get it all one color, that would be great. ie - black car. other than that, i think it just looks stupid.

Ive got the tint strip on the top of my windshield and its worthwhile to note that if it wasnt transparent, I wouldnt be able to see stoplights. Just a thought...

Its not something I would do to my car, but then again I don't like vinyl anything on the exterior let alone decals even if they are stock ones. I like being able to see out my windshield. If anything, a light tinted strip would look great and not impair your vision out the front.

The only thing I can't see out of mine is airplanes. How far do you guys have your decals/bands/whatever going down your windshield?

Well I can see airplanes and birds thru my T-tops...so I can see everything just fine...Honestly...My strips don't impare my vision at all. I had a cop try to give me a problem about it and I put him in the car and the way the seats sit so low you can see the light, so he let me be....I can still see my hood over the bottom strip...can see lights under the top strip...so the vinyl works fine for me. The point in my case was to stop all the glare from coming in to help with the migraines & it works. And I actually like the look!

Since he has made his decision and I can't see this helping anymore, I'm locking it to prevent it from getting out of hand.
