Should I go with these rims, or something else?

I just got my car repainted and everything is looking really good except for the wheels. I'm wanting to do something probably in the 17-18" range. I was thinking of silver ZR-1 rims, since I wanted to stay with something that would match the GFX. But I photoshopped them on, and now I'm not so sure. What do you all think? Would another rim look better? I'm not wanting to spend a fortune on this. Thanks, Joe

What's the price range, we all have different opinions of what "a fortune" is.....

Um, I haven't changed the brakes yet. But...If I get ones with the increased offset, I'm gonna change to a 4th gen rear end w/ disc brakes and I'll probably do new rotors/painted callipers all the way around.

As far as a fortune, um, those zr-1s were about $1,100 with tires, so that's not looking too bad. I would say under $2K for the wheel/tire package.

Thanks for all the help guys!

well i like the Eagle 5 Stars that look similar to the Cobra R rims...they are what I plan on popin on my car sooner or later...and i think they run like 5-600 for 4 rims...but to put them on a 3rd gen i htink you will need an adapter....

i like the ss/zr1 style of wheel but it's extremely common on thirdgens. i personally would go for whatever you like since it's your car. i'd stay away from using adapters if at all possible and keep them 17's if your worried about price. rim price would be the same but the cost of rubber doubles going 17-18 unless you go the cheapest possible.

good luck!

I think it's probably more the pic. I photoshopped it myself, and I don't know what I'm doing, so the angle is off and the spokes are longer toward the front of the car and shorter towards the back.

I found some tho that came in I belive 58mm and 36mm offsets. Will the 36mm fit the front without adapters?

these?

the ten spoke super sport rims, are those the ones on matt berger's 2001 ss?

http://www.hotrod.com/roadtests/72858/

i think those would look sweet myself, it would go w/ the silver gfx really well

just my two cents....

im' particularly fond of the roh zs rims or the zo6 rims. i know the original c5 rims can be had off of slponline.com for a cheap price w/o tires so you might wanna look into that.

I REALLY like those wheels. I definently think that's the way to go. Are you having to use adapters or were you able to find spacers that let the front tires fit?
