Powder Coating?
I was considering doing the 3.4 Swap in the coming months and I wanted to make my engine bay look good.
Fortunately I work where I can powdercoat anything I want for free. I was wondering what from the engine I could safely powdercoat. For those not familiar with how powdercoating works, you have to spray the powdercoat on and then "Cook" it for half an hour at 400 degrees.
So my idea is to paint the engine bay completely black with a Hammertone engine. Is there any warping I would have to worry about after subjecting these to 400+ degree temps?
Thanks for any input!

See sig. and then look at all the PIC's
I do All kinds of stuff...
They make a LOW CURE TEMP powder that only needs to cure at 200* also.. see if you can get that and the possibalities are endless.

depends on what areas you plan to do...i didn't do anything on my engine because of holding in heat. suspension on the other hand i had just about everything done.
my previous L98 engine had everything powdercoated and it held so much heat. never again...my new engine the parts were either painted or polished. powdercoating looks great for shows though.

I powdercoated my engine block and TPI intake and have no problems with heat. The machine shop checked out my block after it was powdercoated and everything checked out. My intake I sanded smooth like I was going to polish it and had it powdercoated and it looks great. I did not want to polish it because I could never keep it looking good with the runners and plenum on top.

Agreed.... I had my Old TPI setup Ceramic Coated and I had no heat issues.
Then I got tired of that and Powdercoated it No heat issues.
matter of fact The car never hit the 200mark.
Then Agin I have a griffin Alum rad. dual flexalite elec. fans. etc.

try it painted or even better just polished....it's the difference between running hotter or colder. you don't have to have heat issues to still be running hotter then if you went another route.
