Do it yourself painting Questions

I have been thinking of painting my front bumper and new fender on my car myself. I cant afford to have a shop do it so I was wondering if any of you who have painted your own car and was happy with it have any tips for me. I need to know what sand paper for the bumper and fender to use and how to go about painting it. Also does anyone know how much paint i would need to paint it? I want to go somewhere and have the paint matched.

Here's an old pic just after a crappy rattle can job. Since then it has been chipping away like crazy.

Bumpin it to the top for ya. I was just about to look around for this same question because my car will be down probably until Spring of 2005, so I would like to try fixing my nose.

I would strip it and use a sealer for flexible bumpers. Then use high build primer and sand it with a rubber block and some 400. Its also best to use flex addictive in ur paint and clear. I used SEM brand primers directions r right on the can. Your paint store should carry it.
