Opinions on paint systems and color scheme
I'm in need of a paint job pretty badly.
I don't know the first thing about getting the job done 'right'
I know there are several systems out there (i.e base/clear, or single stage urethane) I don't know what's good, better, best.
Also trying to determine what paint scheme to go with. I know I want to keep the original color of blue (which I also am having trouble figuring out, because I can't seem to locate my color codes.)
Oringinally it was very similar to the message board sig pic. Two toned blue/silver, but the stripe instead of read was babyblue and darkgray. The problem is that the clear coat was in bad shape when i got the car and it started fading badly, so I sanded up the hood and the top of the car and primed it. It stayed primed for a few years w/ no problems or rust and the gray top grew on me so I am considering painting the top silver to match the bottom. Also considering a black nose cover, rear bumper cover, spoiler, and changing the two-tone to black from silver.
Any hints and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Please check the link in sig to see how it looked w/ gray top(old pics) and also blue w/ black nose cover and spoiler(new pics).
thanx,

sounds like you have no idea what you want.....i personally think with all those colors it's going to look rather bad but you never know. if i were to go two-tone i would try to incorporate the colors into one another through designs rather then a standard line to separate them but that's just me. a really sharp solid color always looks better then mixing a bunch of colors unless it's done right and that can get expensive.
any idea on the price your looking to spend or are you doing this in your garage.....btw i really like the "getto" white van.
