Tire size question

I was wanting to know what is the largest tire size that can go on this rim, is it from my 92 Formula 350. Right now there are 245/50-16 all the way around, but I wanted to put a larger tire on the back (wider not taller)

Also, the lip on the front rims seems to be atleast an inch deeper than the rear? It was like this when I bought it and the guy I bought it from (he was the original owner) claims thats how it was new and how it's supposed to be. The rears are significantly cleaner on the inside and don't apear to have ever been on the front. My other question is, Is this correct? And if so, why?

Thanks

The front and rear rims have different off sets, and shouldn't be rotated, that guy was correct.

As for tires, I run 255/50's on the back of my car. I think U can fit 275's on the rear without any problems... 245/50 are the stock size.

The rears might be cleaner because your front brakes do alot more work then the rears do when stopping. My front brakes always are significantly dustier then the rear.

Hey, thanks for the reply. When I said the rears were cleaner I was just trying to prove the original owners point that that is the way it should be.

So 275's huh? 275/50's I assume, I think I will pick up a pair since I can't rotate em anyway. The tires on now are new so that will give me an extra pair for the front as well.

Thanks

I was told that running anything over 255-265 you'll get very uneven wear, the outside will not wear hardly at all, with the inside takeing all the abuse.

I wouldn't think 275/50, I would think 275/35 or something like that, because the 2nd number is aspect ratio in respect to the width, I could be wrong.

Wrong.

245/50/16 = 25.6" diameter

275/50/16 = 26.8" diameter

The closest size in 275 would be:

275/45/16 = 25.7" diameter
Except they don't make radials in this size, just DR's I think.

Re: Tire size question

looking to get 255/50/16 DR's, but you are saying that the 275/45/16 dr's are almost same diameter and will fit in wheel wells? and they are wider right? i have 16" gta rims.
