devian what combo do you mean?
btw the car looks slick, i def suggest gettin the iroc 16" rims and polishing those instead, but other way it looks pretty good.

it was on there. just a bad angle. the sun was setting and it was shining in the lens so i had to get it to where the picture would take. i have a pic but the sun is in the lens and the cap is on. the front rims are being a pita! i havent even finished one rim today. oh well i will have them both done by tomorrow afternoon. i guess i shouldnt have tried doing both rims at the same time because it seems overwhelming right now but it's worth it........... i think anyway
a lot of people are looking at my post they just arent replying.... i want comments guys come on!

looks a hundred times better. A set of rims can make a break a car and the rims look a lot nicer now. I would consider polishing my 16" irocs but theyre always so damn covered in brake dust they look black either way. Maybe polishing em would help with that? I dont know either way good job.

Thanks
I used Brush on Aircraft Remover from Napa Auto Parts. It was under 10 bucks and it works great! It took 2 or 3 coats of the remover to get it all off. I would brush it on and let it sit for 15 minutes and scrape it off with these tiny wire brushed i also picked up from Napa and recoat until the paint and clear was stripped off. Then i sanded dry with 120, 220, 320, wet with 400, wet 600, wet 800, wet 1000, wet 1500, then mothers aluminuim polsh and they just turned out awesome. it took me about 6 or 7 hours per rim including the stripping of the clear/paint.
the brake dust thing your going to have to replace the pads and rotor up front to get rid of and in the back too if you have all wheel disks. also you might want to try not braking really hard and just lightly pushing the brake ahead of the stop pretty far back because these heavy cars take 100 feet to stop at 60 mph with the brakes almost locked up. pretty much if you just keep them wiped off you should be ok. it take like 5 mins to wiped your rims off and like 6 hours to re-polish so which would you like?
thanks for the compliments! i just got in from installing my sub system. it is getting winter time so since it is cold out and i wont be using the t-tops i figured i would throw the subs in and they sound good too. oh and incase you have a sub with the dome pushed in like i did (its the thing that has the jl logo on it) just use a plunger on it and be gentle and it will pop out and look fine. well mine did anyways:lala:

i was just thinking maybe the brake dust wouldnt adhere to the smooth polished surface as well as it does the rough surface left from the factory. Just seems like a potentially added bonus from polishing them. Thread Starter

it would definately wipe off easier. if you are going to drive like that i suggest wiping them off everytime you are done driving for the day and just before you go out for the insane driving just in case you forgot to wipe it off.

not quite a gift. i traded him for a car the guy that lives across the street gave me. it got better gas mileage (f0rd tempo) and he was going to buy another car but i talked him into getting the z and trading me for my piece of crap. a pretty big step up from a 4 banger ford to a v8 chevy :lala: :hail:
