New Maaco paint will shine, but just wait a while and then see how much shine it has to it. If you got the cheap package, don't count on it lasting more than a year. But then, each Maaco is different, so you could be lucky. Just keep it maintained and you might get a decent life out of it.
I'll take a guess at the color- is it black or dark blue by chance?

good shine?
welp, fo the best shine, ya gots to go out to them woods in kentucky.... demn buggers be makin some strong 'shine.....

hehe, actually, you can probly make your car shine even better... in a month or so, CAREFULLY use some polishing compound on it...
see how your reflection has that slight warble to it? thats because the surface of the paint isnt totally smooth... it has a texture to it (similar to the texture of a orange peel
)
using some polishing compound smooths it over and gives that mirror like shine...

washiing it does...
get some dawn dish liquid and wash the whole car with the soapy water and a terrycloth....
the dawn will strip any wax thats on there, but it also leaves a nice clean surface for new wax..
once the car is washed, dry it with another terry cloth, then wax it.
after that, do NOT use dawn to wash it again unless you plan to re wax everything.... in between waxing, use a good car wash soap... you can find them in automotive stores, or in the automotive section of walmart..... once more, using DISH LIQUID will STRIP OFF WAX, however, its a good idea to use it right before you wax the car to remove the old cruddy wax.....
