Door Molding Location

My 85 Z-28 was missing the door molding when I got it. I now want to replace it, but I'm not sure exactly where it goes. Any other time I would run across a dozen Z's a day...haven't seen a single one in three days. Anyway, my question is, does it go above the door contour line, below the door contour line or right on top of it? I'm really gettin tired of just waiting for one to pass by so I can get a close up look. h-e-l-p....

From what I've seen in pictures, I believe it goes right ON the contour line. It's there for Firebirds, too. Yup, that's what my pictures show.

Here's a pictures - sorry I don't know whose Camaro this is...

[edit] And, whoops, that's an IROC-Z, but I believe it's in the same spot anyway.

That would make the most sense, but wouldnt the molding just rock back and forth on the line? I ordered a set of used molding from Hawk's and it is flat on the bottom.

Hmm, I think my molding is flat on the bottom, too. But I believe the way it's stuck on there prevents it from moving. I'll check on mine later and see if I can see anything.

Most Camaros I've seen have them removed. But, I happen to like the way they look on birds. I think it adds to the lines.
