Engine: 305 T.P.I (for now)
Transmission: TH700"R"4 (R for Racing)
color code for black 85 IROC-Z ?
Hello im wondering whats the color code (color code #) for the original black paint on a 1985 black Iroc-z with gold stripe/letters? If i cant get the original,could someone recommend some other paint close to the original, I want it to look almost original? "BLACK WITH GOLD LETTERS/STRIPE"

gm uses 9700 for most of the black paint on the sports cars. 9700 paint number that is used in the paint industry for strait black. it is also one of the cheapest colors. we use ppg paint(the second best paint line) at work and it looks good. any good automotive paint store will know what you are talking about if you ask for 9700. but if you want to be sure the paint code is on a plack under the hood on the core support (where the fan shroud is). those numbers on that plack are the exterior and interior colors. agian, any good paint store will be able to read the plack and tell you the exact paint code #.
