RS woes...

Thats it, I am starting to get fed up with this...

I have a 1990 RS that has been completely redone while retaining the stock look - new motor and complete new suspension, and it is pissing me off that there are no emblems and keychains available that express mt particular model trim, an RS.

I will use ths as an example, though I am not interested in such a product, it does accurately display my point: http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...l?v=1&pid=8331

While it is more than easy to find any kind of accessory you want with an SS logo on it, or to a lesser extent, almost as easy to find a Z28, I can't find **** for the RS. I see key chains, big emblems, t-shirts, and all kinds of other cool crap, but none apply to my car! Why can't I find a nice 4" long chevy bowtie symbol with a red RS int he middle? Why the hell can't I find an RS keychain or shirt, or hat? Maybe us Rally Sport Camaro owners want some of that stuff too!

And even when i do find something with RS in it, it also has SS! : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2435563752

Woe is me and my RS.

I feel the same way.....Sometimes i find myself torn trying to make my car into an "SS" all arguements aside....

But something about representing the underdog or the "camaro" that many people don't see everywhere is kinda cool......

I would like to somehow incorporate a "RS" theme in my interior, with some custom stuff on the door panels, and even the headrests....

I've already got a custom "RS" shift boot, colored to my exterior color.....

Yeah us Rs'ers are kinda left in the cold. Considering that the majority of Camaros are RS's you would think they would see the market is there! Oh well, if you find any RS stuff that kicks A$$ let me know cause I want it too!!

BUT how many of those RS's have been converted into the Z28 appearance?...........I think you will find that everyone wants a Z28, The Z28 spoiler and grill are mods that are suggested here ALOT.....I'm even guilty of it a few times....

the RS is a better choice for me then a Z28 BECAUSE of the lack of intrest.

think of it this way: whats the diff between a RS and Z28?

the SHORT answer is, engine and suspension.

the Z28 motors are still too slow for me. so i would be modding/replacing it
the suspension needs to be redone with better parts anyway.

so why would i pay more not only for the car, but for the insurance?! the price diff between RS and Z28 insurance is insane for a under 25 single male driver.....

so i like my stock looking RS. i dont want to change anyone elses opinion of the RS, and if they attempt to race me because its "only a RS" i'll just have more fun the the Z28 guys...

technicly if one wanted to make a valid point the RS badging was originaly just a GFX package, you could get an RS/SS RS/Z28 ect.

i also like the RS logos, it is what my car is, no matter what i do to it. it will always be a 1990 Camaro RS.

BTW, here are some pics of the pedals.

dewey, in the pic of them out of the car, the RS is painted.

in the car, it isnt?

you take them back off to paint them, or do they come painted and it wore off, or what?

and with earier camaros, RS= Rally sport.... i tend to think of 3rdgens and later as just RS.... not initals for rally sport.. just are-ess.

also, how do thoes pedals mount? i see what looks like 3 screw holes in the pic... do you drill thru the stock pedal for it?

I don't like the stock appearance of the RS either......

BUT I still plan on having the RS badges stay on my car, no matter how crazy it gets...........

It's the same thing for all the cars......They have the Honda Civic SI emblems, and crap everywhere......How often do you see a keychain for a Civic DX?

i personally love the way a Rally Sport looks. when i replaced my grill, i just went with a new Camaro grill as apposed to going with the z28 grill. my dad's car on the other hand, is an 85 z28. we did upgrade his front grill to the 91-92 z28 grill cause he had the louvered one, and that just sucked.

I agree. When I had my 92 RS, I wanted to put a bunch of work into it but keep it stock looking so people would think its "only an RS" and then they'd get blown away. But I cheated and just bought an IROC because I didn't (and still don't) have the time, money, and knowledge to build a good racer. Be proud of the RS

they are not painted in either, the RS is pollished, the rest of the pedal is matte finish. it is just the way the flash is hitting the polished alum.

yes you have to drill through the pedals to mount them.

i think that if i ever bought them, id take some time and paint the RS in black... i thinkit would look good that way...

but really, i still like my standard black pedals.... i think that lil honeycomb pattern looks good as is.. *shrug*
