Widest tires on 16x8" rim?????

I was wondering what the widest tire people have put on a 16x8" rim? I want wider tires, but i'd like to keep the stock rims....... just wanna see what people have done.

Thanks

Josh

I think anything up to 295 width will fit, but that is pushing it.

I think the BFG Radials come in 295/50/16.

Correct, the 295/50/16 BFG works. Bit tall though at almost 2" larger diameter than the stock 245's!!! BFG also makes 275's and that's what I'm going with... I think...

I have 16x8's on my TA, how small can you go with tires? I'd rather have wider but my buddy has 4 brand new Z-rated tires he will give to me - they are 225 I think.... will they fit?

brody, have any side pics of that car? that is about the look i am going for. what size ya got up front? any clearance issues running a 295/50 tire? also, are they BFG's? sorry about the questions, i just kinda decided that i want to run either 85-87 iroc wheels or 91-92 wheels (can get them fairly cheap through thirdgenresources) and it kinda opened up a lot of options.

oh, and i love the no tailpips look, your running true duals right?

here is the only other pic i got at this time.

sadly though i would not recommend this setup (and i have two brand new 295/50/16s in the garage). i have beat the **** out of the inner fender well and rolled the fender lip. they still rub when taking turns too fast. if you drive like a grand-ma they will never rub on me, but anytime the rear-end is swung out or you are just enjoying turning without using the brakes they rub. plus traction was only slightyl better then my 255/50/16 kumhos. so all in all if you dont like turning fast or your car isnt lowered they're ok - keep in mind i have bags in the rear - its a lil raised up and slightly stiff. not that much though as you can tell from the pics...

i need to figure out what to do with the two new ones in the garage - i would be happy if i got $50 for em lol

oh yah and the front suspension is all stock sporting 235/55/16 tires...

hey

i think someone asked what the smallest size was?

i have some 205/55's on my 16" GTA wheels.

i think the guy who had the car before me got a deal on them or something, cause they look small, and don't hook up very well and i only have a 305 auto. the are goodyear eagle RS-A's

Here's what 255/50/16's look like on my car. They are plenty wide and the side wall isn't too sloppy (handling wise) like a bigger tire on the stock rims would be.
