seems like on most nice flame paint jobs theres like green pinstriping around the outline of the flames. Why is it there? is it 'necisary' for a good flame paint job? any close up pics? thx

The pinstriping is supposed to contrast with the flames and the primary paint color. Since most car's aren't painted green, and if they are, it's usually a darker color, the green contrasts well.
Blue usually works well too.

yea... most classic white/yellow/orange/red flame paint jobs i see have a blue pinstripe around them... not green..

its so that theres a "edge" to the flame that you can see......

it also covers any edgeing errors made when masking/painting.

okay cool....wasnt sure if it was like something that was done to like somehow trick the eyes so you dont see the green or blue or whatever from a distance, and there isnt like a definate edge to the flame. Most of the ones i have seen (or noticed) are lime green.....but yeah now that you mention it i think i've seen some with blue..... Thx
