cheap paint job...final thoughts
There were a couple of huge long posts in the last while about people getting a quality paint job done for really cheap. Well my friend just got his car painted and a little bit of body work done for 900 canadian. First of all id like to say it does look much better but before it was so faded and blotchy that it was one of the worst paint cases ive seen in a while no rust thankfully though. Now with this new paint job hes really happy and thinks it looks so good and while it does look better then before i cant tell if hes in denial about it looking good or if hes just plain retarted. I didnt even bother looking for overspray because you just take a glance at the paint and you see how bad it is. First thing they didnt do the door jams but whatever i can live with that. The paint in certain spots is so damn wavy its grose, there are a couple little blotches of paint where i can tell its going to chip off, it has the weirdest texture and has such a tiny amount of clear coat (its a base/clear job). The part that i find funny is a bunch of people are like wow it looks so good and im just thinking are you kidding? A job like that would make me cry if it was ever put on my maro. The basic point and conclusions that i have drawn if yes your car will look better then before, and yes stupid people who dont know anything about cars will think it looks really good. However to someone who actually cares about their car a paint job like that is not acceptable. A cheap paint job would make me so sick with my car id rather it look like crap for an extra 8 months and save up for a good job. To all who say whatever it will be good for the money who cant understand why people are telling you it wont be good in any way its because the rest of us would cry to see it on our cars. Sorry i went on a little bit of a rant, i just now understand why people were making sure you knew it was not going to end up good, its all so clear now. Too bad the paint isnt.
