17 inch polished irocs came yersterday
I know what some of you guys are thinking. "here is another person with chrome or polished iroc wheels". Well yes it is true but damn these wheels are just the **** when it comes making a 3rd gen look all around bad *** and it very hard to find something comparable other than TT2's. But anyway my 17 inch iroc wheels came yesterday but with a little snag. Three of the wheels were polished but 1 was chrome. Which kinda sucks because i cant mount all 4 right now. But by this happening it definatly reassured me that i made the right decision on going with the polished wheel. Along with your guy help I researched these wheels for months looking at pictures, prices, tires, maintainance and all the other stuff that goes along with upgrading to new wheels. My original plan was to go with 16" chrome iroc wheel, because my tires were like brand new. But you guys quickly talked me out of that and i am glad that you did. The 17's fit the car and give me the look i was searching for. Also the polished wheel is exact look that i was trying to accomplish as far the appearance of the car. After setting them both next to the car it was very reassuring to me that i had made the right decision on going with the polshed wheel. I think the polished wheel has more of a street rod look to it and it doesnt take away any attension from the rest of the car. The chrome wheels are just to bright and really look out of place. They dont blend in with car and have to much contrast for my taste. Dont get me wrong they are shiney and look beautiful by themselfs but they are just not my taste. Just wanted to say thanks to all who replied to my posts on helping make my decision. I will try and get some pics soon.

UPS has picked up the chrome wheel already (this morning) and it's on it's way back to summit racing. Sorry. There are negatives and pros to everything. You just have to decide what is right for you. If you dont mind really shinny wheels then go for the chrome. I just think they draw to much attension away from the car. So i went with the polished. As for both they will be sensitive to the environment. So you must keep them clean and away from road salt. Because the polished ones will pit and the chrome ones will flake.
I really like your car and i will give you my 2 cents and say go with polished because of the silver GFX. I think they would rellay good on your car. And they cheaper. What you will pay for 16X8 chrome wheels you can get 17X8 polished ones for the same price. No matter what you choose both of the finishes are sweet as hell and upgrading to a 17" wheel you will not be dissapointed. Just be careful with the tire sizes. Because those can totally change tha appearance of the car. So do your homework on tire sizes if you havent already. I went 245/45/17 because i am not a big fan of really short sidewalls. Different strokes for different folks. Good luck and I will post some pics of my car soon, but in meanwhile do some searches and will find some pics that will help you make decision much easier.

jcurrieirocz go to summitracing.com site, on the left hand side there is a "keyword box". Type in "IROC" and press go, it will take you to stuff related to IROC's. There you will find the iroc wheels 16",17"18" polished or chrome
