Decal removal

On my car I have a bunch of white lines that run pretty much the length of the car, you can kind of see them in my sig. and also there is like the trim that runs along with the lines. I want to remove everything that I talked about above, what would be the easier way? Thanks, if a better picture is needed you can just pm me.

3M sells 2 great products for that application. I'm not sure of their exact name tho, 1 is a sticker remover, the 2nd one is a glue remover. Works great! Don't do that when it's sunny outside, do it in a garage or under a tree or something.

Use a heat gun....

...Carefully. (It's not hard, just use common sense).

You will need an adhesive remover too.

I used a heat gun to take my pinstripes off "VERY CAREFULLY" or you will blister your paint, then wd40 or glue remover "auto paintsafe" then give the area a light cut & a polish, coz most likley there will be a slight colour change as the paint under the stickers will not be sun affected.

heat gun works just enough for the plastic to get soft then use a goof off or saomething like that to get the glue off. i have used easy off oven cleaner to remove panted on stipes and lettering off my old service truck, just have to work kinda quick with the stuff so it don;t eat the paint that you want to stay.

well i found the perfect way to remove the pin stripes, use a pressure washer, it will get the decal off, and the adhesive will look so smooth that it looks like the paint, then you use some kinda adhesive remover to get rid of the glue, then your all set.

I used a heat gun with a small round end attatched to it so it only heated up the bump trim,(be carefull) the glue is a bit of work to get off but go to your local auto paint store they should be able to give you the right stuff for the job

If you have lots of decals/pin stripes to remove, have access to an autobody store they sell what we always called an eraser that you can chuck up in a drill or diegrinder. It is a round thick disc that looks/feels like an eraser you used in school. This is a effiecent and safe way to remove any decals/stickers that will not harm paint/clear coat, etc... If I remember right these can be had for around $20 or less and seriously cut down elbow grease/time when removing. I used to letter/decal semi's and trailers when I ran our trucking shop and this saved me tons of time since most of the owner operators would come in with the former employers decals all over the rig and I'd have to remove it all before appling all our companies logos. Just be sure if you use it around stripes you dont want to remove you use a steady hand-I acidentally removed a 3" chunk of pin stripe of my work truck when I removing the dealers sticker on the tailgate. Defienately a must have in the tool box and they last quite a long time with frequent use, any gummed up adhesive left over we'd just lightly rub with a rag/old shirt with paint thinner/laquer thinner/WD-40/bug &tar remover, etc...
