My friends told me they heard that 5th gens will be coming out in a few years. Only thing is they will be FWD V6's like Chevy did to the Monte Carlo, Imapla, Grand Prix, etc. I certainly hope it's not true......anyone else hear this?

 

I sure as hell hope not.

 

One of the car shows on speed channel had a small segment about a redesign of the camaro and firebird to a smaller FWD V-6, they even talked about it being out within a few years. Never be the same in my opinion....

I think they both look preety kewl just dont like the FWD and V6 crap BUT that can always be chaged by a swap lol

 

I am pretty darn sure they wouldnt do that.

 

Unless you really have your heart set on buying one if they do resurrect the turd... who cares.

 

Botrh the red and the green are Kris Horton's, 19 years old.They were both featured in Popular Hotrodding magazine.They are just his renditions and nothing more,although it would be great if GM would use some of his ideas on the 5thgen rumored to come out no later than 2007 in time for the Camaro's 40th anniversary.Check out the 5thgen and future car section at CamaroZ28.com if you want to talk about 5thgens.

 

i think the green version of the 5th gen looks cool.........it would definately need an ls1 on it.......with a procharger....man that would be badass

Those pictures are not real cars. They are renders from some sort of 3d modeling program, probably Lightwave,. 3D Studio, or Bryce. Damned if they don't look real though :P

 

well after going to the last few major car shows that GM was there and talking with alot of people i have found out that the new camaro/firebird will be about the siz of a acura 4door integra, styled like you have seen in the picture above, but have a LT-4 with the 6sp manual and rear wheel drive.

so they are redegising it and making it smaller, so better weight/power ratio.

ive heard that they will be on the gto platform, i heard this rumor about 3 weeks ago. So if its on the gto then its rwd ans v8, i never heard anything about a trans am , just a camaro.
