Woah, 130K Yen? That's close enough to $1,300.00... Ouch

It looks to be a CF hood! That would make it very $$$. That hood looks sweet, and if they could make it in fiber glass it would be a lot cheaper.

In money exchange about 90 yen is worth 1 dollar. So if its 130000 yen 130000/90=$1444.44 So if you can actually talk to the people making it would be a good bit over the $1600 mark with shipping from Japan. Really cool looking hood tho! I know Hawks has alot of other projects going on now, so if someone did talk him into making this it would take a LONG time.

holy crap when the japanese do something they do it right, officially two of the nicest maros ive ever seen have been from japan. That hood is the nicest thing ever and dont ya know its functional too!!!! something manufacturers over here dont seem to understand, i bet it even fits real good too. Kind of sad that we dont have anything along the same lines over here.

but it owuld fit any 82-92 Camaro and if a carbed guy wanted one then he would have to worry about it, I know I would since my car is carbed.

Actually, with the current exchange rate, its $1204.

Someone needs to call that company and see what shipping would be......

i was thinking that too but what are the chances they would have anyone who speaks english? Theres gotta be some multilingual people on this board someones gotta be able to do it. I would SERIOSLY consider that hood as my next major mod after i get my rims. Can we say group purchase?

*** damn that is nice. I wish we had that type of craftsmanship over here for these cars! Very few out there who would be willing to do so. Check out that CF TPI air cleaner cover too. Pretty pimp.

I wish! We could barely get 4 or 5 damn people to do one on a flat CF hood! I seriously doubt there would be enough to shell out over $1K on a hood.

Hehe yea really, and on top of that trying to explain the dynamics of a group purchase to someone who doesn't speak your language etc... I think your own your own if you want to try and get one, but they look DAMN nice!

here is the site translated......well sorta

http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...p=ja_en&tt=url

the hood is badass

but i could do without the carbon fiber, and without the $1210 price.

lol, i've been bitching about having to spend $500 (shipped) for a SS hood, i couldn't imagine 1200.

i would pay about $700(shipped) for that hood, but anything more than that..... forget it.

give the boys over in japan some credit, that hood is pretty damn sweet, i suppose believe it or not, not everyone in japan is a r1cer

i really think the r1cer thing is a US fad, i have seen many, many tastefully built, and very nice imports come from japan, as well as many very good examples of american iron. although the swede's are the people who are really impressing me with the iron these days.

I believe REVLIMIT made a hood for his Camaro very similar to that one. Haven't seen him post in a long time though...

Those cars are verry nice..

The Problem here is.

1. People Say they want these Hoods. but dont buy. Do a search for carbonFiber Hoods on this board.

Last winter this same Japaneese site came up and A few people wanted the carbonfiber hood. Me and A buddy kenny were ready to make a limited run of hoods(we both have Tons of composit and fiberglass exp. 8+yrs myself and 20 for him) anyways When the final Price was said to be 800-1000ish. I only had 1 person. still interested and his hood was actually even more custom because he wanted a viper air duct grafted in his.

I have a japannees contact over seas also and IF people were SERIOUS and had the $$$$$ I could have these hoods imported. My cousin lives over there....

good luck, you know how this site works, 400 people say i want one, but when it comes time to fork over the $$$$ only 2 people will spend the money. it seems to be the way most thirdgen owners think, talk big, dream big, but try to be as cheap as possible.

It's kinda odd to see a group of Japanese people that are into thirdgen's cause the few Japanese friends I've had all said that American cars are viewed very poorly over in Japan. But it's cool that we have some "presence" over there!

I still want that hood! Prop's to the Japanese thirdgenner's !

i know it is pretty cool it seems they have quite a taste for american cars. If you really look on some of those websites, its not just a few either, there is a lot of american cars over there and all different kinds at that!

Axle/Gears: 3.23
Well...a few months back i contacted a local fiberglass sompany about making a hood for a dodge neon (my ex's car) they said they would do it if they had got enough interest in the product...

i'll give you links and contact information to the company and maybe we can get this made..this board seems to be a hell of a lot more active than the neon boards...

heres some links and phone numbers

i dont know which set of info is the most current, but when i contacted them they were very curtious and pretty quick in responding... Somebody send them a picture of the hood and see what they can do. The more of us that contact them themore likely the part will be produced, and the lower the price should be.

hope it helps

As long as it didnt hit anything electrical, or get a large amount into the intake path, it would be ok.

i don't think at speed you would get any water in there, it is an extractor, it shoudl suck the hot air out of the engine bay, not suck cold air in.
