In my experience it's best to stick with the legal limit or else slightly darker than that. It's all fun and great until the cop pulls you over and writes you a hefty ticket for it.

I tinted my back window really dark because the laws here don't regulate my rear tint, and I did slightly darker than the legal limit on the sides and they have left me alone.

I think it looks sweet like it is... it doesn't have to be pitch black to look cool.

P.S. I should have wiped the blackouts down, I realize that they're a little spotty.. but this is the best pic I have until the car comes back out in the spring.

im gonna go 5% all around, ny allows anything on the rear window and nothing on the side window. But im still gonna go 5 all the way around so that it looks cool. I hardly ever drive at night, and i usually have the windows down , even though i have ac i love having the windows down. so i sould be fine.

Depends on how stictly they enforce the laws in your area. In Illinois, we can tint the back as dark as we want but there is no tint allowed on front side windows. I have 5% on the back and 20% on the sides and I have never gotten stopped or ticketed for it.

And if you take it some place good, they'll give you a lifetime warrenty... so if it turns purple they'll replace it. And go to a place that uses the 3M stuff and the kind that covers the whole hatch as one piece, not strips. It looks a lot better that way.

yea here in michigan we are allowed, if im not mistaken, anything we want on the back, but nothign on the front sides.
You cant see in my picture below couse i added afterwords, but I got limo on the back and I belive either 20 or 35 on the sides, never had too much trouble. One cop gave me a ticket for it but it was instead of a speeding ticket(told me the city just wanted the money)

I had 30% on the bird with your car color i'd go a real dark i did 15% on mine and it looks great you can still kinda see in in the sun and at night you cant see in at all. 5% looks awesiome but is harder to see out of at night. The rs was all purple and peeling up when i got it make sure wherever you take it they use a good quality film like lumar and make sure the back window is ONE SINGLE SHEET of tint when its done in strips it doesnt look as clean. I'm at work now and this was the only pic i could find on the comp. I'll get a better one

i think the legal limit in any state for the front side windows is 35%. or atleast in CA and AZ its 35 percent. The people at the tint shop should be able to tell you what the state limit is.

as long as you dont use a ammonia based cleaner on it, most new tints (esp good tints like 3M) never turn purple.

its when someone puts windex on them to clean em that they start to fade to purple.

oh, and i have no tint since its a convertible....

as said above darker isnt always better..
Id rather have the sides right in between not to dark but not too light, mine is pretty dark right now and at night it sucks, you cant see much at all out the sides ..

I have 23% all the way around. I think that 5% on the back and 13% on the sides is the legal limit in New Mexico. If I were you I'd go one shade all the way around. I don't think it looks that great if someone has limo on the back and a lighter shade on the sides.

they cant just pull you over for illegal tint, can they?

i mean you have to be speeding or have a light out or some reason for them to pull you over than they can fine you for the tint, right??

on my camaro i have the sides & rear tinted at 43%(surpose to be MD legal limit) but on that list someone gave the legal limit is 35%

I dunno about other states but yes in Maine the tint is enough for them to pull you over and ticket you or at least give ya $hit, they are just looking for a reason to pull sports cars over around my area

well i WAS thinking about darker in the back, lighter in the sides. For one reason. I have a system back there, and it is pretty visible. Below is my system. What would be my best bet?

cops dont need any other reason to stop you..they can pull you over for your tint and if they want to be a d*ck they can make you pull it off right then and there...well atleast out here they can..i have 5% on my ta and at night i cant even see through the back window..but during the day it looks real nice

yeah they can stop you for tint. If tint is illegal, then you are breaking the law and they can stop you.

The tint law here in Georgia is 35%. The strip across the front window can not go below the ASI mark on the windshield. So
typically around 6" to be exact. The POLICE here are strict on tint.

if you have a system in the back and are worried about people seeing it you can always get two layers of 5% because with just 5% you can still see through

BlackNSilverRS a cargo shade is the best way to cover your stereo. I'm not completely sure it would work with your setup though, the box looks like it comes up pretty high.

Oh and i plan on going with 35% all around, on a white car.

in some states theres whats called a primary and secondary offence.

here in SC for example, up until a few months ago, the seatbelt law was a secondary offence.

meaning you could sit next to a cop with no belt on, and he couldnt pull you for it.... but if you did a primary offence, like speeding, he could pull you over, ticket you for speeding and then for no seatbelt too.

they've since made it a primary offence, so no seatbelt = reason to pull you over...

the same things apply for tint and other things in most states

as always, check your local laws.... and ASK LOCALLY... some places the cops are dicks about it, in others they couldnt care less...
