Swapping GTA taillights into stock Firebirds

I recently bought a set of nice GTA taillights to go into my Firebird, I polished them up and they look and fit perfect but my old taillights have 6 holes and lights, where as the GTA lights only have 4 holes, how do I make this work? Any info would be greatly appriciated...

(Moderators- I wasnt sure if this should go in Appearance or Electronics, if its in the wrong spot, please move it for me. Thanks!)

Use a drill and carefully make some new holes? You should probably find something to seal the old holes off with as well.

The turn signal socket on your stock harness won't fit, it's too long/deep, at least it was on my 88 Formula. I cut the two turn signal sockets off of my stock harness and put 2 sockets off of my Trans Am on.

I also drilled a small hole into the outer lens bucket to run one of the smaller bulbs in there so that the entire tail light lit up when I had the lights on.
I used the outermost lights as the turn signals.
Here are some pics before I added the running lights to the outer section,

running lights,

Left turn signal on

I just cut the wiring for the 2 smaller ones and got rid of it, then changed the turn signal socket for one from a 84 parts car i had (like zepher said). I also put the turn signals on the outer edges.

When I fix my broken 91 pass side tail light, I'll take some pics of the wiring and the type of socket I used to get all three sections lit up.

Zepher, Thats a good idea. Ill just put the turn signal lights in the outer holes and use the rest for brake lights. The backup lights wont work with my 5sp swap anyway...ill just put nothing in those holes.

Thanks guys
