C6 Wheel Probelms

I figured that this belongs in here since it has to do with how the wheels look sitting in the fenders.

Talking with a Corvette buddy, and he said that the only way that the new C6 wheels will work, when released, is to use 4 front wheels (18x9). Now, on top of that, the wheel spacer/adapter is needed.

Now, his arguement was that the C6 rear wheel has such a drastic off-set that it would sit 8'' or something within the wheel well.

Whats teh deal?

As soon as the wheels are obtainable by the public, I'm puttin a set on the RS!!!!

That makes sense, but I don't know of much info available on the C6 rims considering the car isn't really in PRODUCTION yet - just out of curiousity, are these the rims you're talking about?

Yes those are the C6 Vette rims. When I first saw them I imediatly thought how would they look on the IROC. I would love to put a set on. I'm sure they will be pretty pricy.

They'll be pricey when they first come out, but I bet someone will make knock-offs sooner or later that won't cost as much.

stock offset on the c5 is already so far out that you would really need a seriously thick adapter to make the c6 work if it was necessary. assuming for instance they are a +65mm offset on either front or back you would need at least a 2 1/4" thick adapter. the 19" rears shouldn't be any more of a problem then the fronts.....just a pain being 19"

well I've got 2.25" adapters on the front of my car and a 99 Z rear with a 3/8 spacer on the back... if the c6 offset is farther out, good luck unless you do some front suspension work!! Although I would love the c6 wheels on my car.. they are sharp!!
