Thirdgen.org Windshield Banner?
I've been wondering for a while; I know there are some who don't like windshield banners, but this is for those who do:
Has anybody produced one that says Thirdgen.org? I think it would be cool for us all to get them, so we'd see other members driving around and such.
I think it would be cool to see another one on the street and think "hey I hang out on those boards!" Maybe even use it as an icebreaker to meet other owners. Also, to me it would signify an enthusiast, not just someone who knows nothing about them or inherited the car.
What do you think?

I would do a small rear window decal.
I already bought one of the small circular tgo stickers and plan on putting it on my TPI airbox.

I am not found of the windshield banner saying thirdgen.org....I mean I want something for my window because in my opinion that damn window looks huge and could use a bit of dress up. But the back window thing for thirdgen. sounds pretty sweet. I'd be game for one.

i think we'd need permission to get them made otherwise i know a sticker shop owner and could have him make them....would be under $10 i think.

do we actually want to start an international third gen club? We really could do it, have different chapters of the club and have meets every now and then during the summer. Would make it a lot easier to plan events chapters could organize dino days for their members. Would probably be a good idea if a few people took on a leadership role and kept an eye on the whole thing as much as is possible. i really like this sticker http://www.cafeshops.com/thirdgen.5156943 but it would need to be a little bigger, im thinking something winshield decal size on the rear hatch.
Edit : we would also have to have the chapters organized and have members lists. Chapters could be divided by where you live. Each chapter would have to have a couple people organizing the chapter, and i dont think you could just automatically accept members but people would have to apply to join a chapter. No crazy process for joining but as long as your either knowledgeable about cars, or have an open mind and are willing to learn and not just a totally head up your (expletive deleted) kind of person you would be allowed in. This could be so cool guys!

okay heres my idea feel free to disagree and propose alternative sugestions
if the mods are reading this at all maybe we could start a sticky? I am really interested in makeing this happen. First we would need a couple people to step up who would be willing to oversee the entire thing. Then those people could decide where the different sections of the club would be located. A chapter would only be formed if there were enough people in that area that would be willing to actively participate.
After the chapters had been formed we would need at least 2 people from every chapter to step up and over see their chapter. If more then 2 people stepped up then the people in charge of it all could decide who was more suited most likely just based on reputation on the board and willingness to devote time.
Once this is all done we could decide as a whole (put it to a vote) as to what type of sticker we would like and how we would like to make our selves known.
For now membership would be based on just willingness to sign up. It would be asked that the only people who join are people who have serious intent on participating in group functions. After a reasonable sized chapter is formed they can be allowed to decide who is able to join their chapter (most likely again put to a vote amongst that chapters memebers). If anyone was to be removed from a chapter for any reason it would have to be put through the head people in charge of the organization.
As far as people willing to oversee it all and help get it started, i would be more then willing to be one of those people. Anyone else who is willing to step up as someone who would put in some time to help get this off the ground it would be appreciated if they spoke up. We will also need someone who would be willing to put up a web page as i dont have the skills. It doesnt have to be anything flashy for now it just has to be a place where we could post a chapters, members, and rules list.
This is all just ideas off the top of my head as a starting point id love to make this happen. Please convey your input. As for the general rules i just put up dont start nit picking them its just some ideas that sort of stuff can be sorted out once we get it off the ground.

How about window clings instead of stickers? I think they just stay on with some help from our friend static electricity. Easy to put up, take off and move around without having to worry about any residue on your glass.

19doug90 What you are proposing sounds pretty interesting. I live in Oakland ca. and would be willing. I have belonged to a very organized motorcycle club that started in 1907, for ten years I have been a member of its board of directors as well as serving in other roles, so have a really good idea of how and what is needed to make these clubs work. I think you really need to start a new post however for this because this one is really about window banner stickers.

I had one made this last summer for mine. It says THIRDGEN.ORG and has a bowtie. Its small in the center on the bottom of my rear glass...Windshield banner is not a good idea, Some memebers couldnt put them on. For example, here in Virginia, Its considered illegal, I found this out after being pulled over 4 times in my bug for one! On the top of my rear glass I have one for vacustoms.com and on the bottom is thirdgen.org Looks sweet!
