Charcoal toruqe thrusters - where??

Somebody was kind enough to photochop these charcoal TTs onto my car, but I can't seem to find that color anywhere.

American racing rims show the TT-D as looking more like a black as well as the pic on Summit's site.

I plan on painting the car silver later, so I definitely don't want black, more of a gray, who makes these?? Thanks!!

As far as I know, everyone with wheels like that has had them custom painted...

Custom painted or powdercoated. I remember seeing a site that did them in grey powdercoat but I didnt save it, and I dont remember what it is. Im sure someone here knows it though.

The Torque Thrust D model has grey colored spokes - they're not really that dark, just grey.

You can now get the Torque Thrust D in custom sizes, including the 17" varieties that the Torque Thrust II has always been available in. Unfortunately, because American Racing considers it a "custom" size, they are ridiculously expensive.

However... it's not real expensive to have the TTIIs powdercoated.

Yup, they can be "special ordered". I happen to have set right here. 17s, 9.5" in the front, 11s in the rear. They are mint. They are the TTs, not the Ds. And yes, they could be very expensive! Here is a thread from a few weeks ago: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ghlight=torque I have yet to decide on tires b/c they are so damn expensive. Plus, its winter so there is no rush.

i'm still torn between the gray and the chrome, the gray centers are perfect for the color it is now, but i plan to paint it silver next year and the gray centers don't look as good with it as the chrome i don't think.

(borrowed 97-1le's car)

I think the first pic you posted, looks very bad ***! The grey car looks better with the D's.....the Silver paint needs a little more modern wheel I think.

I am sure American Racing can help you out. I would go with 17s though. They make a large improvement over stock! If you are going to go with silver, it might look better in chrome, but thats me. If you were to leave the car the way it is, gun metal grey with silver gfx, then i would get these wheels, it looks good IMO. In the end though, its your car! good luck

Maybe American Racing changed them. When I became a dealer last year, I thought I remembered the ordering sheets specifying them as TT D's, but because the D's are usually only available in 15", that the 17" and 18" versions were "special order items".

But... it's been a while since I looked at the books... it's not like I have a lot of people buying wheels during the winter.

At this link: https://secure9.nexternal.com/shared...unt2=380271553 They only show the sizes 15" and 20" wheels. Also, another option on them is that the inner wheel is also polished to a mirror finish and not left cast. I am sure if you were to call them up something could be ordered.

That's the point I'm making. The ordering catalog shows the other sizes as "special order" or "custom" sizes, and sell for something like $450 PER wheel.

A much cheaper option, which is the one I plan to take, is to buy the TT2s and have them powdercoated locally.

I picked mine up for no where near that price. They are brand new, don't get me wrong, but i bought them off of someone with the custom options and offsets. If they were that much i probally would not have gotten them. I also bought them b/c they are, or should i say, were different when i bought them, plus they look good with my color car. But yeah, getting them powdercoated locally would be the best way to go. later
