First I would remove the louvers. Then I would either polish the rims and get rid of the gold color on them or get new rims.

What kinda engine does it have?

I say paint the gold on the rims the same color red as your car, and get some ground effects on it.

im getting rid of the louvers as soon as i tint the windows, i wanna keep the back seat as nice as possible. as for rims, im not sure if i want them to be red, i have a hookup for chrome, 200$ for all 4, but im not sure if i want chrome rims either. ground effects are a sure thing, i want 91-92 style, but its gonna be hard to find them without having to buy them from a reproduction company. please let me know if you know where i can get some GFX for cheap, i need everything. im thinkin about getting some lowering springs, what do you guys/girls think about them? are they worth the money? i just turned 16 so money isnt comming very quickly. the engine is a 350, which was rebuilt, has an accel supercoil in it, an edelbrock intake, and some other stuff the guy had on it before i bought it. any other questions or suggestions? just ask

oh, and im keepin the IROC rims on it, jsut dont know what i want to do with them

I agree the IROC rims look good on our cars but not in gold like that. I have them on my car but they are in the normal grey and silver which is a nice clean look but they also look really good accented in black as well.

wow, nice car, especially for just the price of the rebuild!!!!! And I dunno, but for some reason I think your car looks really good without the ground effects. But I too don't like the wheels, if you stripped them down and polished them they'd be way nice looking I bet you.
and then since your 16 you'll probably want to just start off with a stereo and stuff, maybe the ground effects if you decide them (but once again, your's looks pretty good without them) and then you'll have a very pimping high school ride, with a nice newly rebuilt eight cylinder pumping 350 cubic inch box of pure chevy power

my dad is being really stingy with the car, he wont let me touch it. he thinks that im gonna mess the thing up if i strip the rims. he would rather have me put out the money to have them polished rather then me do it myself. so far for a stereo, i got a JVC face, Blaupunkt 4x6's and Blaupunkt 6x9's. im not worries about subs and stuff right now because how i see it is that they are extra weight. i dont mind the rims as they are, but i want something that will go with the car, and for some reason, i think that the gold accents it. i have an 84 z28 sitting in the garage right now and that WAS my project car. that one is being sold in order to fund this one. i polished the rims on that one, and it took for ever, all the little nooks and crannies in those rims... I dont know how much easier IROCs are to polish, although i think that its worth it because they look really nice in the end.

so far, here is my list of what i want:
Ground effects (91-92)
Candy apple red paint (like kandie's car)
a flowmaster muffler(30 or 40 series)
Limo tint on fronts and back

how does that sound? anything that isnt there that u suggest other than the polishing of the rims? thanx again

Actually what would look good is ditch the badges and side moulding, keep it no gfx, but add a 85-92 Z28 hood with 91-92 blisters and a set of 91-92 Z28 wheels.

Check out some old pics of my 86 Sport Coupe:

Ya deffiently get the windows tinted and get new rims. Chrome ones look alot better then those on now. I think anyways. Although its yours so do with it what you want. Possibly to make the interior better if needed and gets some fat tires in the back and smaller ones in the front. Just a thought.

My honest opinion is (being a Formula guy) is to lower it an inch or so, get some nice 17" rims and leave the ground effects OFF.

Almost every nice thirdgen Camaro has the GFX, but the basic body, fat tires and mean stance says "Muscle Car" to me!

It is your car, so do what you want. Sounds like you got a great deal, though!

aright guys this is what ive kinda decided, im keepin the rims that are on it for now mainly because i cant afford new ones. if i decide to get rims im going to get Vintage Wheels Works v40 or v45s. they look like torque thurstIIs but they are cheaper and im my opinion look a bit better. as for ground effects, i dont think that i want to lower it if its not gonna have GFX. i know i know, its a muscle car. i want it to be a show/street car though. if i wanted just street, it wouldnt have GFX plus, i like how the IROC GFX look on the cars. i will not have the car victory red like it is if i put the GFX on it. they do not look good in this color with them. as for inside. im getting a headliner probably tommorow. black with a nice big chevy bowtie stitched into it. hehehe ill be the only one with one like that because itll be custom. any other ways that are cheap to make the inside nicer? that do not require destroying stock parts? let me know

(console and dash) if u wanna... other then that.... id get 4th gen seats....only kus they are comfy and look nice:lala:

Dont throw away the louver ! i love the louver ! Nooooooooooo! Nice car, dont throw away the louver, and if you do..... GIVE IT TO ME, yea, thats a better idea, give it to me! Nice car, what i did to make my interior look real nice, and keep the price low, i whent to my local car supply store, bought interrior spray paint. and took out my interrior and spray painted all the parts a nice glossy black, smoothed it out, and overall used a couple of cans, each piece getting a few layers, and the interior look brand new, becuase of all of the minior scratches and fade spots make the interior kinda ****ty looking, even though its hard to identify whats making it look so crappy, its usually (well in my case) all the parts, are getting old. Thats my cheep fix for my int. Remember about the louvers !

if youre interior is all faded you can just go to the nearest u-pull-it yard and should be able to get all of the plastic trim pieces for around 100 bucks.

As for the gfx without them it looks more like one of the birds, and personally im not a real big fan of the birds. Third gens are not muscle cars, theyre designed to go fast but also to be good handling cars. I completly prefer the look of the gfx with a suspension drop.

Other then that i like the wheels, if anything just polish em up you probably have 100 different ways money could be better spent then on new wheels (6 speed transmission, performance tires, suspension, paint, sfcs, a cage heh i love thos they look cool and eliminate chassis flex, etc theres too many more...)

oh dude i forgot you were in high school. I have to admit as much as it pains me id rather have a third gen maro then almost any other car for going to HS because it is a bad *** looking car and sounds mean as hell. You HAVE to get the GFX screw stylish that can come when you feel like retiring now is the time for being a pain in the *** teenager and having a car that kicks so much *** its running out of *** to kick. Gotta love pulling up to school every day during the summer in one of these

aright, lets see, so far im keeping the rims because i can get a great deal on powdercoating. where it is gold, im getting them powder coated black, the rest of the rim will be polished. and for those who want the louvers, i am NOT giving them away thats for sure, gotta get some money towards the tint if im getting rid of them. just let me know how much u guys want to pay. ground effects are a most likely thing, im kinda leaning towards the sleek looking sports car. ground effects, tuckin some maybe 265/40/16s somethin like that. which lowering spring do you guys recomend? and if u do reccomend some, please put a link. thanx

PS. where can i get some of those hood buldges???? thanx again

if you do the GFX ill be really impressed i think it makes our cars look soooooo much better. The thing is be prepared to pay around 500 bucks for em, not to mention im not sure how it works for attaching them on the front because the SC front bumper cover is really different then the ones that came with gfx, and drilling the holes that youre going to need to will be an interesting feat though. Definitly sounds like youre on the right track.

well if im putting GFX on it, i gotta put a new front bumper cover on it. thats just like 12 bolts, no big deal. im gonna get someone to put on the sides so they are aligned right, the back and the quarters are easy, just 2 holes on each side and 3 bolts on each side for the bumper. nothin big. anything else u guys think i should do? let me know!

Get the GFX. The Firebirds look good without it because the front end is designed for NOT having it. The Camaro nose is different. It looks like something's missing when you don't have the GFX.

As for the louver, if there was ever a car that was "made" for a louver, it's the thirdgen! It's almost a natural "marriage." It'll look "80s," but that's what it is, lol. But the thirdgen is also quite happy being "single," too. So keep it, or not, either way, you can't go wrong.

And the IROC wheels are a definite keep! But the gold? Umm, well, I'm a black and silver guy, lol. Try the car color, black, or polish it off completely... any of that.

Thanks man. I attached my sig and it links to my car domain site. You can even look at the accident photos on page 3 . I'm an idiot and had a little run in with a curb and then a tree but the damage doesnt look bad at all and its going to get fixed up for next summer and have a few little custom things that ill be sure to get lots of high res shots of.

As for performance stuff its got 3.73's, a shift kit, true duals, previouis owner claims the heads were port n polished, slp headers, and thats about it. I already have the funds for the repairs on my car and am now saving up for a t-56 6 speed which is the next mod going into my car.

i think the reason people like camaros so much is because of the front end ( i know i do at least) and the SC front end looks ridiculous (sp?) imo. id definatly throw some gfx and a 92nose on there.. itll def go from a 6.0 car to a 9.0 car with about 500$ invested or less.. id say gop for the gfx, strip the rims with stripper, maybe touch up polish them(they look WAY more shiny without the clearcoat on) paint the inserts black or paint them like my car. id throw on a z28 highrise to back up the 350 and id say your good to go good luck with it.

i dont know if i want to drill holes and everything for a high-rise. if i can get all the ground effects done and out of the way, then ill tihnk about doing a new spoiler, *** for the blisters, where can i buy some? i think they look awesome. i can find a z28 hood no problem. third gens are a dime a dozen at the junk yard and they usually have nice hoods on them. as for ground effects, ill be able to find a rear bumper from the junkyard for next to nothing. but the GFX are always broken. front end might be a little hard to find, but if i cant get one from there, i can get one with the gfx on it for 400$, is that a good price??
there is a guy about 1 hr away fomr me that buys camaros and parts them out. here are his basic prices, and he does bargain

Front Bumper Cover-400$
Side GFX(all 6 pieces)-150$
Rear Bumper Cover-50$

im not sure how i can get the side GFX brackets on though. does it have to be done professionally?

as for rims, i think im going to strip them down and get the incerts powdercoated black, what do you guys think of that?

once again, thanx a bunch for all the suggestions

is there a difference between the 85-90 and the 91-92 front bumpers? i know that the GFX are different, but are the bumpers different? at the junkyard, there are a lot of camaros, but i think most of them are 82-90, not so many 91-92s and if there are, many of them dont have GFX on them. thanx again guys

Yes, screwed hardcore, you could buy new ones for that price, even less mabey! dont buy that bumper cover, its a bad deal, listen to 19doug90! I would try the boneyards for a bumper and see if they sell it cheap.... if not, throw it over the fence and run to your car !

no they are the same in shape but ive recieved mixed information as to wether the holes for the gfx line up or not. Worst case cenario you have to drill a couple new holes but theyre definitly the exact same shape.

And best of luck finding a front bumper cover in a yard from my experience most of these cars are either front end collision or the cover is in such bad shape it couldnt be used. However i found an endless supply of rear bumper covers...

hey there again guys, i got what i NEEDED done to the car, a headliner. its black tweed with a 3D chevy bowtie in it! im the only one with it and i love it lol. anyways, how much are those power blisters? i know i can get a z28 hood no problem. a hood at the yard is like 20$ or something. i want to get all the parts before i get it painted so i dont have to pay the body shop for parts. ill just take in all the different parts and have them leave the stock bumper covers off of it. and ill take in the new ones once i find some. what shade of red do you guys think i should paint it? im thinkin the cherry red that is on the 03 mustangs, but im not sure. opinions are welcome, and thanx

Well, I have great news for me, and bad news for you.

The bad news for you is that I found a local upholsterer right down the street to do, redo, my headliner(my original one) at a pretty good price. So I'm afraid I won't be helping you get your discount on your door panels. Sorry.

The great news for me is that I won't have to drive two hours, lol, AND that he also found the original fabric to redo my driver's seat!!! WOOHOO!!! Unfortunately, the fabric will cost A LOT and is coming from far away! But it'll be worth it.

We spent about 30 minutes going through samples, which included all of the fabrics available online, and none of them were close enough to satisfy me. So he dugout the samples of the original fabrics, we found mine, he made a few phone calls, and... YAY! I'm happy. :lala:
