my main thing is people smoking around my car and sitting on my rear hatch(not the glass part) i freak out because i keep thinking that my spoiler is going to break or something. if someone is doing someting i dont like, i will tell them politely at first. if they keep doing it, we have problems. another thing is, when my car is in the garage and my window is down, one of my friends will sit on the top of the door, thats when i kinda stop asking so nicely. another thing that is good to do, when you park somewhere in public, park next to expensive cars if possible, or between an expensive car and a curb. if the car is halfway decent, the person will now swing open their door because they know that they will get paint on theirs too. and a curb for obvious reasons.

geez, what is it with "most girls" and not respecting cars. It drives me crazy seeing all the crap "most girls" put in, on, or around there car. Half the time they could care less what happens to their car, they often forget that when riding in someone elses car.
Even though I don't care about my car now, I sure as hell don't want to make it worse by incedents mentioned by StreetRoc85 350.
As far as hauling extra foot soldiers around, I took my rear seats out to eliminate that problem, "Sorry man, its a 2 seater."

they usually only care about looking pretty in a nice car. they dont think about how much was spent or how much effort was put in to make the car look this good. yea it's just a car but to a lot others its something way more.
i dunno about some of you guys but to me driving alone in my car listening to tunes is one of the most relaxing experiences i can have during the day.

I don't eat, smoke, kick panels in my friends cars, so why should I put up with them doing it in mine?

another thing i dont understand is why some guys let their gf's drive their cars. then they act surprised when their gf's wreck 'em. i've read a lot of posts on here about gf's backing into something or breaking something inside while they were driving. it just makes me laugh. most girls dont have a clue what's going on when they're behind the wheel.

The only two things I don't allow are people smoking inside my car and people sitting on it. I usually let people eat inside my car as long as it's not too messy.
The worst was when my friend sat on my hatch. He was wearing jeans with the little rivet thingys on the back pockets. Those left a couple nice scratches when he tried sliding off. He was lucky my car was being repainted soon or I might have seriously injured him.

My friends have always been just as kind to my car as I am with theirs. I can imagine if I actually had problems like some listed here - particularly when one guy mentioned people sitting on his spoiler - then I'd probably be a little more aggressive.

dude i would be seriously on my way to a new g/f if i was u!
Im sure its not just our cars either. The eating, smoking, leaning on hoods...etc. Some people will do that to any car, be it a beat up old truck or a new Ferrari. They just dont care.
Im not trying to degrade these people, they just dont have the same respect that a car lover would have. One of my dads cars, a 1964 Jaguar Series I E-type has been in my family for over 30yrs. There are probably only a few hundred of these cars in the country and maybe a thousand in the world. (Series I that is, there are plenty of Seiries IIs and IIIs out there). Ive seen fully restored ones bring up to $100k. Now ours isnt fully restored, but its in nice shape, and on the few occasions that we do drive it, some people will wave and smile and give a big thumbs up, some wont even give it a second glance. They just dont get fired up over cars. As long as the driver is happy with his car, thats all that matters and its up to him to decide how people treat it.

i am extremely **** about my car. i do all the work to my car my self. i have countless amout of hours put into my car. so to me its not really being ****. im just proud of my work and i don't want to see it get ****ed up. im sure that there are plenty of you guys out there that are the same way. tends to make you apreciate(sp) the car alot more.but yeah, i don't let anyone eat, drink, smoke in my car. i really hate how some people have an uncontrollable urge to draw/write stuff on cars when they are dirty or dusty. that really really really pisses me off.

I had a friend fart in my car and look at me like it was funny. I looked at him with the worst "who just shiyet in my mouth" face stopped the car, and told him to get the **** out. That was unholy, and uncool. Good thing he was only a few blocks from home.

Man this is my kind of post, as long as I've had my car no one has ever drove it but me, I won't let them. My wife has asked me to time and time again, but I won't let her. One day we went for a drive, and she left a pop can on the passenger floorboard. I went outside to put the tops back on, and seen it!! Man I went ballistic!! Although I do drink pop in the car I don't ever leave any trash in it. Heck I even smoke, but I don't in the car. If I'm on a long trip Ill stop if I need one. I dont want my car to smell like a ashtray but I will smoke in her mustang. I keep my keys with me at all times so she don't get any ideas. If i'm **** about anything its letting someone drive my car, or even sit in the drivers seat for that matter.

Man... I used to let little things my friends do slide, but after reading this.. not any more, f'k that... I'm just gonna be like "GET THE HELL OFF MY CAR!" or "STOP DOING THAT YOU @#$%@^!!!"
And whoever it was that posted about people sitting on his hatch, and worrying about the spoiler breaking :werd: One of my friends just leaned against the back of my car (Camaro, 3 piece, not high rise spoiler) and I could see the thing move.... I hate people.

Hes not hugely fat but hes a big guy and i saw my seat all getting wrapped around him and i was like nooo its gonna have to be broken back in to my shape again now lol. But when you work 6 days a week on top of being in school and 80% of your pay check goes into your car i think its okay to be as **** as youd like about your car. Member

One question I have is why are there so many people here who would use the word "****" to describe themselves? That's not very good self respect.
Another reason I like my car to look a little on the road warrior side is when I blow away all these **** people it pisses them off even more.

Well, this is the first time I'm going to post without reading the entire thread,....but I'm tired and it's late.
Here's my rules for my TA
-do not lean against or on the car
-no smoking
-no drinking
-no eating
-no gum
-close the door by the handle only
-don't touch anything
-no throwing things out of my car
-no yelling or flicking others off in my car (don't want any retalation key marks
)
-no writing on the windows
-wear your seat belt
-do not lock your door (don't want the paint to wear off the button)
-and definately do not touch the ttops, especially if the car is moving
-I will shut the hatch for you (I HATE it when people act like they've never seen a pull down hatch and keep on pushing and slamming the hatch down wondering why in the hell it's not closed all the way.....Oh and no one better shut my hatch by pulling down on the spoiler.)
-and when my leather GTA seats go in you will make sure that your *** hits the center back of the seat and that your legs and back swing safely over the bolsters
-no more than two people can sit in the back (I learned my lesson, three squishes the seats)
I was TONS more leinent on my Formula, as me and my friends used to sit and eat on the hood or chill out sitting on the ttop roof. My girlfriend jumped on the hood one time as I was leaving her house mad. She dented it and I told her that if it had been my TA, I would have left her

I'm pretty much the same as 4mul8r, I prefer to close my hatch by first pulling it down with the latch, then gently clicking it into place with the spoiler.. then wiping off the finger prints.. The one thing I really really hate is people that feel the need to run their fingers on the paint when there is dust on it.. I've totally flipped out on people that do that.. I should make then hand polish out the scratches they leave.

you know whats as bad as someone slamming your power hatch....I know a guy that would slam his own power hatch because he was clueless on how it worked
I was like just set it down and it will latch itself and pull down,he's like oh really.
The next time I see him "slam!" he hasnt quite fingered it out I guess

Oh I hate people playing with my hatch, that's why whenever I open it I say "Hey ya wanna see something cool?" Then show them my hatch. That way they never get a chance to slam it.
Fingerprints on my windows used to be a big deal, but now I have Armor All window wipes in the back so it's not a problem.
As far as it just being a car, that's not how it works with me. I looked for this car for two years. When I saw it I knew it was the car for me. The car has helped me through tough times. It is always there when I need it. Plus when I drive it I get this euphoric feeling and totally sync up with the car. When I see it I see everything I want to do to it. I'm really weird about it but everybody has something they rely on to comfort them, and this is mine.

problem with shutting the door using the handle or area round the handle is that is WILL lead eventually (and on even the youngest of our cars eventually is very close!!
) to a nice dent/depression on that area of the door - not nice
... my car is not as nice as it should be
but that'll change
however even now it's no smoking in the car... keep it tidy... and please respect my car NO LEANING against it (unless of course you are cute and nude - and even then it depends where!)

I think I'm reasonable, but most other people don't think so, lol
- No smoking
- Drinks only with straws/lids
- Eat only if you clean it up (lettuce falls outta your big mac, pick it up)
- Don't touch buttons if you don't know what they do
- NEVER touch the black plastic handle above the side window... its NOT an "oh ****" handle, lol
- Don't expect me to carry much luggage
- No, you can't drive it
hehe... I guess only you guys (and girls) could understand, huh?

No smoking, no eating, no drinking, keep your hands to yourself and down (brothers buddy was in the back seat with his arm up to block the sun, to make a long story short I gave him some nice bruises so I never see him anymore.) No one drives my car, execpt for when it goes to somewhere like an exhaust shop then they drive it on and off the lift. I make people shut the door by the handle and not window or door. No standing too close to my car. Some other stuff that gets me mad is when people compare their cars to mine, when they had their parnets buy their cars for them.

I am and I always get crap about it. I was wondering if any body else is like this. I go as far as to kick peolpe out of my house for sitting on my car after I asked them not to (especially with spiked belts on.)

Dude, dont hate people cause good stuff happens to them. I didnt pay for all of my car... i did put a few grand down, but my dad helps me with a lot of it. I pay insurance, gas, everything else. Im gettin some bodywork done too that hes helping me out by paying for it. Just because people get stuff for "Free" sometimes doesnt mean they dont appreciate it.
Sounds like an ignorant comment to me...

My car has two priorities: go fast and get me from A-B.
I try to keep the outside looking nice, but it's not a huge priority to me.
I was really bad about it when I figure got the car because the body was straight, but one trip to UIUC to visit my friends and I think I had 6 creases in my doors from drunk ****ers in the parking garage slamming their doors into mine.

There are three things that people do that i can't stand.
1. close the door by pushing on the window. I can't tell people enough.
2. Don't use the power door locks. The writing on them is perfect and i don't need peoples fingers rubbing it off. I don't see the need for people to unlock my door as well as theres when they need to get out. It drives me crazy.
3. NO smokeing. The previous owner did enough damage by smokeing.
People think that because i don't have a perfect interior it gives them the right to treat it like S@#t. I care about my car and i want to preserve it the best i can. I think i'm fair, i let people eat and drink certain things in the car (untill some one spills something).

I had a friend who's window was actaully broken by someone closeing it by the window. He always told the person not to, but they said it dosen't matter and slamed the door by the window. Needless to say he was paying for it.

besides the food, drinks, touching, leaning, smoking, and all of that the 2 that i have the biggest problem with is slamming the doors/hatch and poking/ trying to tickle me while i am driving. Last summer we took a family vacation and my dad was nice enough to let me take his stang, and when we were down there i hooked up with some friends and when we were out driving around one of them (female) was trying to tickle me while i was driving !! i jerked the wheel and almost totaled the car !! if we were not on vacation i would have left her there. i pulled over and told her never to do that again or she would be walking. Also dont touch my radio ! i dont touch everyone elses when i am in their car's. its there car they can listen to what the want, this is my car and i will listen to what i want, and at whatever volume i feel is appropriate.
and i feel better !

My rules are as follows. Some may be negotiated.
1. No smoking. I am a smoker, if i have to suffer so do you.
2. Play with the radio, listen to what you want, if I can take it, dont chage the presets, or the tune settings.
3. No food, none what so ever, you can chew gum, espesially if you smoke.
4. Drinks, have to be in a sealed container, with a sipper style lid. I allow myself a cup of coffee with same style lid. Girlfriend has lost coffee drinking privledge due to bathing the console in french vanilla on the way to a show.
5. No sex, to prevent damaging interior pieces.
6. Do not, under no circumstances touch the paint. In the event of this violation, a specially trained team(me) will remove any marks, and punishment will be exacuted.
7. Rules 1,3,4,5 and 6 are non negotiable. Any violation of said rules will result in ejection, and bannishment from the vehicle, and possible bodily injury.
