Heat additive for paint?

There's a flex additive for the paint for the bumper covers, but is there something that can be added to the paint for the hood to protect against heat?

Many years ago, I opened up the "scoop" and installed the grill used on the '82-'84 TAs to allow heat to escape(and boy, does it!). But to do that, I had to remove the underhood insulation. I probably didn't have to remove all of it, but I did anyway. So over the years, between the sun and the engine heat, my hood has fried!

One of these years, I'll give the car that $4,000 paint job that we've all talked about on other topic posts, lol. But for now, since the rest of the paint still looks pretty good, all I'd like to paint is the hood. So I'm wondering if there's an additive for heat protection so the hood paint will hold-up better.

There are high-heat paints, but are they for cars, and are they tintable to custom colors--like my GM #41 Black? If not, an additive would be the answer. Does this exist?

Why not just get new hood insulation? I think GM still has it. Dynomat makes something for it also.
