How do correctly clean heads off a v8 305?

I usually dissasemble the heads and take them to a machine shop and they can hot tank them and check them for cracks. Usually cost about $50 bucks for a set of heads hot tanked and magnafluxed around here.

Texas huh...well it might be a little more expensive around here. So I guess I'll dismantle the heads and take them to an engine repair shop or something. thanks.:yourock:
