Need help deciding on a hood

I am looking into buying a new hood and need some suggestions.
I have my choices narrowed down to either the ss or a cowl. I really like the ss hood but don't know if it will look right with the nose on my 84 z28. Does anyone have any good pictures of an ss hood on an 82-84 z28. The other hood that I really like is the goodmark steel cowl, however I don't know if I should go fiberglass. At the moment I have the stock steel hood, but I heard that the goodmark was heavier. There is a picture of my car as it sits right now, but I am making changes within the next month. I am lowering it at least 1-1.5" with the ground control weight-jack kit and will be adding a 5" iroc spoiler from Hawks. I am looking for any suggestions and pictures that may help me make my final desicion on a hood so I can get my order out.

On that year camaro with those body panels the cowl hoods look amazing and i think the ss hood would look very out of place (especially because your car sits so high). However personally im not a fan of putting on a cowl hood unless you need it for clearance, kind of lame having it there just for show purposes. I sugest you wait a couple months because ascd is coming out with two new hoods that im just dieing to see.

I actually need a new hood, because the stock one has some serious underside rust. I would also like to be able to use a slightly taller air cleaner element, when I do the cam swap on my engine. I thought the ss hood would look out of place and I don't think I want it. However, I just don't know which cowl hood to go with. I really like the lines, fit, finish, and functionality of the steel goodmark hood, but I can't decide wether I would like to go fiberglass instead. My car is going to primarily be driven on the street so I don't know if the weight savings of a fiberglass hood would really be worth it.

Oh by the way I already ordered the weight-jack kit and other suspension parts, so the car will be lowered.

2.5" cowl induction would look best IMO... way too many cars with the SS hood anyway. I'm kinda getting tired of seeing them.

I think a cowl would look better than an SS hood on your car.

if you could actually use the clearance by all means get a cowl! they look schweet, and from what ive heard the cervini ones are by far the best fit and finish wise.

i luv your car man, reminds me of mine i got a 83 z28 with alot of my time and money put into her

anyway if u want a new hood because of weight/rust there is stock fiber glass hoods that were on some pre 85 Z28 i got one on mine. if u going for look that i leave to u to decide i am going though the same decision (i might go ram air 2 )

i did a photoshop below for u of some changes to your car below.
lowered it, painted light pockets black, and put some clear markers on her. i think the black pocket just look better, and she really needs to be lowered.

Thanks for the photoshop. It will be low, probably not that low, but it looks great. I thinks I am going to go with the goodmark hood, since it is my wifes favorite too, and that makes it easier to justify.

I like my Cervini Ram Air hood. Not alot of people like it but I think it fits the lines of the 82-84 Z28 GE's nicely.
