Which Tires?

I am going to be needing new rubber here soon. Just thought i would get everyones input on which tires to get. I am wanting a good streetable tire that is going to be fairly soft and good for occasional track use. Thanks for the help guys. By the way I am needing either a 245/50/16 or 255/50/16, preferably with a Z rating.

this'll probably get moved, but heres my 2 cents in the meantime... i just got 4 new Kuhmo ecsta 711's. They're one of the cheapest tires out there. Overall I'm quite impressed. Wet weather traction is great. In dry weather, they handle decently around corners, but one thing i notice is off the line grip isn't that great when you punch it ( and ive got an almost stock 305). I've got a friend with Goodyear Eagle F1's and they stick like there's no tomorrow. I think you get what you pay for, but if moneys tight Kumhos seem to be pretty good.

yea...my brother has kumho ecsta supra 712s on his 95 camaro, which i like them but wanted to get input from everyone else. i have looked at the f1's and they are a bit on the high side for what i really want right now, but i may end up getting them.

I just got some Visa tires (made by michelin) today, ordered them from discounttiredirect.com, free shipping and all. The tires are like you're looking for, 245/50/16 A Trac, A Temp, 360 Treadwear, Z rated, and only $69.99 a tire, it's a great deal for so far what's been a very good tire for the price.

The higher the treadwear number, the harder the tire is. i am looking for something soft like a yokohama avs es100, that is a really soft tire. I think the treadwear rating on them is 280.

Have you ran this tire before? If so, how many miles did you put on them?

everyone I have talked to loves their kumho 712's, with a treadwear rating of 280, they should be pretty sticky and with a price of $88 each for a 255/50r16 (www.tirerack.com) you should be happy with them.
