What color should I paint my brake calipers??
I know there are tons of posts about this....but..it's finally starting to feel like spring again...that means more things to do and to accomplish! I would like your opinion.... I need to paint my brake calipers....(I have drum in the rear...weird for an L98 huh??) I'm not sure what color to spray them....Red? Black?Aluminum?, or Cast/Steel? You decide. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

Id go with black or aluminum.. black matches your car and aluminum matches your wheels
red would definately look out of place IMHO unless you plan on putting some red accents elsewhere on the car

Personal opinion, but stock calipers and drums should ALWAYS be black. I laugh everytime I see calipers painted all crazy because it just looks dumb. Kids in high school try to make a 1980 4 door malibu look cool by painted the calipers/drums bright red...

Unless they're aftermarket brakes, HIDE them with black.

Nothing wrong with painting calipers IMO. Even if they are stock. But NEVER paint drums unless you are painting them black.

i agree what what you guys are saying...and I'd never touch the rear...black only. I think the calipers would look descent like maybe a dark steel color.....but....I dunno...I'm going to try to "photoshop" it to see what it would look like...

This is a little off subject, but whats with all the remarks about high schools. believe it or not, there are some of us who still have class, and aren't all about the gaudy crap on our cars. True, there are many, but some of us still like the classy look. So just don't generalize so much. Just a little insight to a high schoolers mind.

I've been thinking alot lately about painting my calipers anodized red, if I can find it. My car is going to be black and I have zr1's. So yeah go with red

84customZ28 what kind of wheels are those? cragers? those are sweet, nice ride man. But i would say go with a steel color if you can find a good one, that would be sharp, otherwise go with black.

Those are 17 inch American Racing Torque Thrust II's, thanks for the kind words! I agree.....that I should stick with a color that won't be so shocking....especailly since my car is basically black and silver. I think I'll probably just go with black because I don't have rear disks on the back..and i think it might look funny just having the front calipers stand out....

I'd leave them alone, or go with black. I love to see cars with painted drums, it helps me laugh a little stress away. I like colored calipers, but not the stock ones. If you paint them red, I think it would really make them look small (because they are) inside those 17's. Get a set of 13" Baer or Vette brakes on there and then powdercoat them red.

I think I'll just go with a nice satin black....that way, they will look clean, but not stick out like a sore thumb, thanks for the opinions guys
