The Triplets.

As if I needed another car to take up some time that I need for the 89, along comes this. This is one deal that no sane person would pass up. Got her for a cool $150, no joke. If I didnt buy it, the next day it was going to the Junk Yard, saved another one.

The interior is somewhat intact, just a few plastic pieces were taken off, but they are all laying in the back seat. Motor supposedly runs (2.8 & T5), but we'll see when I throw a battery in, and put the radiator back in. Might make a nice daily driver. No dents, but shes pretty dirty. What do you guys think.

Oh, the wheels gotta go. I think they are off a Monte Carlo, yuck.

Looks like you got yourself a perfect project car, or
as you said daily driver. That's an awesome deal for $150 bucks.
Why did they part it so cheap?DUECE

My G/F knew the people that had the car, and I did not, but apparently they needed some cash real bad, lol. I didnt ask questions, I just gave them the money and had a wrecker haul it off.

cant beat $150...you could make a NICE profit if you decide to piece it out. Sell the seats for $100, sell the engine to the junkyard for $50, and everything else you sold would go into your pocket

I like those wheels on 3rdgen Camaros actually... well not THOSE specific 4 wheels, but that design.

BTW, they are from a '78/79 Z28 Camaro as well as the MCSS.

If you really wanted to part a car out like that were would be the best place to sell them.

Anything other than Ebay?

I think the TGO classifieds would be a better bet than ebay. I'd post an ad saying i was parting out a car w/ everything still in it and wait for parts requests from people. I wouldn't go to eBay until it died down here. I think you'd sell more things and make more money than going right to ebay.

The only problem with it being a daily driver is that when you pull up to someone that wants to go at it....You will be thinking " Damn I wish I was in my 89" It would be a good winter beater though. I have been driving my 4X4 as a daily driver and come to think of it, I have not even given my Formula a start for about a week. Hmmmp Going to go start and wash right now!!!!!

awesome deal! you could definately make good dough parting it out if it's a lost cause mechanically. The ground effects alone will turn a profit.. then you have the doors, fenders, tail lights, bumper covers... potential interior (especially the dash pad if it's in very good condition). you get the point. If it runs, great. If it doesn't, great. you can't go wrong

Yeah, I figure if 88 doesnt run, then there are a bunch of parts that can be useful to someone. Otherwise it will be a driver for my Mother, not me. I forgot to clairify that. I still havent touched it yet, too busy working on the 89.

Once that LS1 is running in the 89, chances are that you'll be passing by that white car every morning........you'll get addicted..

holy $hiiiiit dude, great steal. I sold my 88 SC shorty wing for 45 bucks, u could get even more for it (half year production). this is the way I look at it, the body looks pretty tight, I live in mass and a lot of the 3rd gens are gettin pretty rusty. Please dont part it out! Id love to see you put a couple hundred into it for a winter beater or car for ure mom, I hate to see our cars partd out. the only reason why im parting out my 86 Z is because the floors and subframes...and strut towers are rotted beyond repair. Save another thirdgen from another terrible fate, even tho its a v-6 doesnt mean its not a nice lookin fun car, (just like girls not quite 18 yet) lol, potential man

There is no way that I'm parting the 88 out. I didnt think that the motor would run, but was I wrong. Just had to hook everything back up, then do a tune up (Cap, rotor, plugs wires, PCV, oil, filter) and its running. Still need to replace/trace a few vac lines but it runs and drives now. I also had to bolt the hood back up (which somebody opened the hood without it being bolted down and put a bash in the corner of the windshield), and got about a 1/16th of an inch inbetween the nose and hood.

As a matter of fact I'm fixing to go clean the outside of the car real good, and then I'll post some pics. of the outside.

The interior came out OK, theres a good rip in the drivers seat, but I have some other red seats from the 89 that I'll put in there. Both inside door handles are hosed, warped really bad. And I need to screw down about all of the interior plastics.

You can see the horn was relocated to the dash, really custom.

I found it in the hatch glove box. I also have one on the 86, and the 89 will probably get one too.
