Hood pics, post wetsanding...

I finally decided to fully wetsand my hood today and I thought I'd share some pics. I painted the hood at home but it didn't come out as well as I would have liked so I'm probably going to scuff up the paint and give it another few coats of color and clear. By the way, I'm going to see if I can rent a booth when I do the whole car, does anyone know where you can usually rent a booth? Anyway, on with the show:

Nice choice with the hood!! You are now like 6 of 6 people that have this hood. It is not too popular.

i love that hood. if i had a maro i would have that hood. or if i had a 93-97 ta i would have it. why is the hood fitting so bad on the drivers side by the nose. Is the nose not on all the way of what . But the hood looks cool, when are you getting the rest of the car painted.

The hood to fender line is f'ed up because the car was wrecked on that corner and the fender is bowed. Also, the nose is from certifit..... so yeh the fit isnt the greatest and the bowed fender makes it look even worse. I have a used fender I bought from Hawk's to remedy that and I'll get it lined up right when I get the new fender on. I plan on painting the whole car in the next month or two. I have a problem with keeping the shine of the paint. Everytime I wetsand and polish I can get a great mirror like shine, but the next morning after the due dries the finish gets hazy, it doesnt look half as good. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I've tried glaze/wax, and nothing keeps the shine for very long. Here's a pic of what I mean, the hazy part on the right is what I did yesterday and the clear part on the left I just did and is what the whole hood looked like yesterday:

Anyone know how I can keep the shine on the left?

And a pic of the wheels I have to go on it just for the heck of it

Holy Hell!

I need to do that to my car.

Is it hard? I watched that one Trucks episode when Stacy showed how to wet sand it didn't seem that bad. Do you need to polish afterwards or go straight to wax? Maybe that is your problem with the shine. You didn't polish it before waxing. Hell, I think i just answered my question.

Looks awesome!

Thanx for the compliment. I wetsanded, used rubbing compound, polished, then waxed, but apparently I'm doing something wrong because I can't keep it from hazing........
