what valve covers?

normally im not for looks and all, but i am for making the car (esp the engine) detailed nicely.

the heads i have can accept both centerbolt or perim bolt valve covers...

now i can easily add a nice oil cap, breather and PCV fittings to either one of these covers... but im trying to decide what one to buy....

sealing isnt a issue, i have a thick flat rail and i use rubber over steel gaskets... this is a just looks thing... i cant decide what one.

perimeter

centerbolt

what is the advantage to either? I really really like the looks of both of them...I might have to pick me up a set of those

no real advantage other then they look cool and dont weigh much.

they're almost $200 though. hence why most people dont have them

im getting $200 as a gift so im trying to spend it on something nice that i wouldnt normally buy if i had $200.

this is a looks alone kind of thing.

im split 50/50 myself.

well, in that care, you could always do an
"eany-meany-miney-mo!"

If it were me...I'd just stick with the center-bolt....but like you said....they look identical...either way, they look great

Centerbolt all the way. I see tons of perimeter style covers and not too many centerbolts, especially the fabbed ones. Center bolts are a better design that's why chevy changed to them to stop oil leaks.

i can't say i like either more then one another. i've always liked that style but couldn't understand the cost behind them. much better price then my $340 chevrolet ones though. either should look alright.

beats the hell out of me....all i know is they are lightweight aluminum. there were two choices that looked identical in the catalog but one was of a different make. felt like splurging at the time, now i could take them or leave them.

what catalog? Damm. I can make the drive down to summit racing and pick em up for $200 I cant see anybody marking them up $140 bones.

and I dont see a $140 diff for the short or tall ones. thats just crazy.

It depends on what heads ya got. If they're iron go centerbolt and say thay're the stockers, if they're aluminim go perimeter so they look more hi-po. Personally I don't like either of them, just too plain for me. If it were me I would get some w/ a chevrolet and bowtie, but it's your car so go for whatever.

i like the center bolts b/c they are welded and you can see the seams and i like that look . Both look good but i would do the center bolts, i dont see as many cars with the centerbolts as the perimiter bolts.
