What to do...

Heres the story, my '85 Z28 was stolen from me almost 3 1/2 years ago and yesterday i got it back. The person who stole it sold it to someone who sold it to someone who sold it to someone else! Yeesh. Well the person the police got it back from put a rebuilt 350 TPI out of a 90 IROC along with a bunch of tranny work he said he did. He took an interior out of a Trans Am and put it in the camaro....but he didn't take care of the interior or exterior of the car at all. I cleaned up the interior last night (If you dont have a shark steam cleaner to get into all the crevices of your car i suggest spending 100$ and buying one, they are awesome) Conditioned the leather with meguires (That stuff smells really good too) so it looks better inside.
Heres the question, how many of you have used aircraft stripper? Im thinking it will save me TONS of time rather than sanding the car down, just use that. But i think some of the GFX are polyurethane, can i use Aircraft stripper on that? Or just the metal parts? And also how much can i get an SS hood for?

EDIT: Also is there a way i can check to see if he really did put a diff motor in it? How can i check to see what gears i have in the rear? Thanks

well aside from not having your car for 3 1/2 years it seemed to turn out pretty good for you, free engine and interior swap .

About the aircraft stripper, ONLY use it on metal parts it'll eat away at plastics, and it might be faster then sanding but it's a hell lot more messy. Get a Dual Action sander and take the paint down with some 40 grit, it'll go by real fast I promise you.

For the hood, check out the sponsers on the top of the page.

Not sure about the gears, someone else might be abel to chime in on that one.

Well have fun with your car, now that you got it back faster then before.

I like the sig too

i bet u were suprised when u got that fone call eh haha...umm to check the gears an easy way, sort of acurate, is jack the car up, turn the driveshaft and count how many times the wheel goes round...thats a rough estimate of being able to tell...also take the diff covor off and count the teeth on the big gear but i dont rmember how many teeth = what it is....
