average cost of tinting windows
a guy i know through friend does window tinting, and he says he can give me a "deal" rear and side windows for 160. is this acually a good price? ive seen his work and from all i can tell he does a professional job.
anyone who has had their windows tinted at a shop, how much did it run you? i just want to make sure this "deal" acually is.

I had my friend tint my windows and we did $40 and a 256meg ram chip.
He would have done it for $100 straight up. $150 is normal price around here for good tint jobs.

yeah tint has got to be cheap here in florida. I mean my mom got it done on her saturn when we were on welfare. She couldn't have had much money to spare. Maybe she knew the d00d cause she cut his hair and he cut her a deal. I dunno. One good thing about being a Hair Stylist, is everyone tlels you everything so you get all the good deals.

I was told $150 for just the rear hatch if it had defrost lines. Its that much as it takes all day to get it smooth with all the bubbles out.

Your best idea is to go to tint shops in your area and actually ask them. Or look through the yellow pages and don't be afraid to call around. Look for a place that offers a lifetime warrenty and that can tint the hatch in one piece as opposed to strips.

My friend did my sides and rear hatch in about 2 hours while we were chit chatting about stuff. the tint looked awsome till the day I shattered my hatch glass in an unfortunate drilling accident 2.5 years ago

man, you guys pay some high prices, when i had my 88' F-150 Ext cab, i paid $119 w/ lifetime warranty at a local tint shop. and that truck had 13, YES 13, separate windows, so it took them a while to do it all, but it was very well done, and thats where i'm taking my Z this coming weekend and they've already quoted me $90 w/lifetime warranty also. you really just have to shop around, cuz when i had my truck, one shop wanted to charge me $250 for the tint job.

Damn, I had to pay $300 for them to strip off the old purple crap and then to retint it. But for here in Atlanta, that's about the average price. It would have been $225 if he didn't have to strip the tint off. Apparently, according to him, he says if the tint was still good, he wouldn't have charged me anything, becuase it just peels off, however, since mine was purple, it flakes off and takes longer. Whatever.

It cost me $140 to get my windows tinted. I got the 2 side windows and trunk window at 15% . That also includes a lifetime warranty.
