Cleaning wheel wells?

Hey how does everyone clean their wheel wells? Mine are dirty as hell and the inserts are painted so I cant use a pressure washer or anything. What are some techniques you all have used to get these suckers clean without removing them from the car?

take the wheels off and clean with a big brush. I even went as far as to put new coating on.

I always just clean mine with water, then apply a protectant on'em so nothing sticks, it works great....you could even rub a thin layer of oil on them...and not much would stick. When and if mine get looking a little pale and not deep black...I just re-spray'em with satin black, works great and are always clean

I used acryllic floor wax on mine. Blackened them up real nice, and dirt doesn't stick to wax, and the wax is waterproof once it is dry.

I recoated mine when I painted the car, and just use soap and water now, then tire protectant foam to keep the junk from sticking to it. That and it's water repellent, so it also helps with rust prevention.

Cool, so it looks like my best bet is to just take em off clean and either paint em black or.... Polish!!!
