Is it worth it to rebuilld your whole back-end

just wanted to say that my 83 Berlinetta was totalled on friday by a Blazer, and wanted to know if it is possible to rebuild the whole backside of a camaro? I mean pretty much from doors back.

Car: 87 Monte Carlo SS
Engine: 89 IROC 350 TPI
Transmission: 700R4 rebuilt w/TCI kit
Axle/Gears: 9" from 57 ranchero unsure gears.
it is possible, but a whole lot of work, requires a mig welder and knowing how to use it and access to all the parts. 1/4 panels, and what ever else damaged, 1/4's are not cheap usually. Might be cheaper to find another camaro, even one wrecked on the front and use your front clip on it.

'87 Monte Carlo SS,with '89 IROC 350,700 trans, blew up 3.73 posi stuck with crappy 2.73's neeed gears! hooker headers, flow's 2 1/2" exhaust true dualls

One word = NO!!! Unless the car means the world to you just get another one and swap your good parts over to that. Once the frame gets tweaked, it's never the same. Also, the body panels will never quite line up straight again, unless the work is done perfectly. You will find it is a total PITA, unless you REALLY love to do that kind of work.
But that's just my opinion. I am going to rebuild my fire-totalled car eventually (hey, I couldn't ever get rid of my 1st real car!!!) when I win the lottery.
