Blade,

I have a spare set of TA tail lights sitting at home. I'll check them out and see if they can be disassembled. I think they can be. I remember seeing a parts list on the internet that showed each individual part of the tail light, as if it could be removed.

I am not sure about getting the grids attached to the clear shield again... I'll see if the ones at home are glued on, cuz I think they are doing the same thing.

Use some good plastic scratch remover and plastic polish to polish the shield up. I think there is another thread here where people talked about what type to use

Dirk, what year tail lights do you have just sitting? I am looking for a good set of 85-90 T/A tail lights, the ones that look like blackouts.

Blade,

Good and bad news... the good news is that that tail lights DO separate so that you can adjust the plastic pieces inside of them. Take the tail light out of the car. On the bottom, there are 2 metal clips. Pull those off. On the top, there are 2 plastic pins. Pull those out. After doing that, you can seperate the front and rear sections and clean out the reflector and re-set your plastic thingies inside the assembly. Don't attempt to remove the plastic reflector strip at the bottom of the front piece... it doesn't need to come off, and chances are you'll break it anyways

The bad news... there is no way to fix the black "checkerboards" attached to the clear lens. It looks like the entire section is melted together, it can't be seperated.

Ward, the tail lights I have lying around look like this:

The drivers side is messed up w/ a BB hole in it. Pass side is OK

Hope that helps you Blade.
