Question about GTA wheels and drum brakes

Question about GTA wheels and drum brakes

would i run into any problems with putting on a set of GTA wheels on my drim braked rear end firebird.would i need any kind of spacer fro the front or rear?

No, because GTA's came stock with rear drum brakes, so the wheel was made to fit both rear drum and disc brakes, not sure about front ones though, even though its extremly rare to see front drum brakes anymore on any car

No.

would i need any kind of spacer on the front or rear?
Front, no.
The rear may have had a 3/16" shim/spacer (my 16" formulas had them in the rear) but, they are not needed.

Spacers would be needed if you have the aluminum drums, otherwise, everything will bolt right up.

Other way around. Spacers required for the cast iron drums. The aluminums drums are thicker so they don't get the spacers.

I just put the 88 GTA wheels from the car in the sig .... on my 88 Camaro like an hour ago actually lol...crazy. Rides fine... no problems. GTA has 4 wheel disc... Camaro has drums.

I did the same thing with my 89 RS but I had the spacers and it looked a little better with them on. I didn't think 3/16 would make a difference but it does.My IROC wheels seemed too far in ward in the rear. GM did it for a reason.

I pulled the rear wheel off of my 1987 trans am and found a shim or spacer between the wheel and brake drum . Does anyone know what this is
