looking for Lexan t-tops or information about them????

I had seen a post on this board about a guy who had Lexan t-tops on his race car and was wondering if where i could find a set, new or used, or find out what cars they came on possibly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have a nice set of glass that i would be willing to trade if anyone rather have glass t-tops.

Do you just have the glass to trade or the whole T-Top? Make sure they are for a '91-'92 firebird as they did change over the years

Lexan T-tops are rather difficult to find. GM discontinued the Lexan replacement panels a few years ago. There are no reproductions available yet. You might try a late model wrecking yard specializing in 3rd gen F-bodies.

Finding the "perfect" set may be impossible to find because most have minor to moderate scratches, a few small gouges and widespread material crazing from sun explosure. Try not to be very picky when it comes to choosing the best set. You can always polish the small imperfections out.

Lexan T-tops were introduced into F-body production during the 3rd week in March of 1989. However, GM went back to glass T-tops for 1990-1991 because of numerous problems associated with the original Lexan material. A lot of people who had problems under warranty were given glass tops instead. The 1992 model year saw the return of the so-called improved Lexan T-tops on the F-body.
