Paint
Paint
I have a 87 camaro. The paint is defective and peeling in places. I was wondering when I get the car repainted do I have to strip all the old paint off and start from the bare metal or can I fix the trouble spots and go from there?
I want to keep the car for a long time so I want to do it right.

Ideally you want to just remove the layer that's coming off. Factory, baked on paint sticks to the metal better than anything that can be sprayed on later, so you're best off leaving it there.
