Hatch Trim Rusting

My 89 gta's hatch trim (the black thin metal trim that runs around the edge of the hatch glass and under the rear wing) is discolored and beginning to take on some rust.

Is there anywhere i can buy this trim ive looked on ebay and cant find it...or is there anything i can do about it?

need advice

The trim is like $540 for each side, I am not joking either, I had to deal with the insurance company's crap when my rear window got shot out.

Just sand it down with 180 then 320 grit, and mask it off and spray it with a Semi-Gloss black paint. Mine came out mint!

And before you start sanding it down, take some good heavy tape and tape off the hatch glass in that area and put a drip cloth or old sheet under the work area.

damn thats crazy. I guess I will just be fixing mine up lol. My trim is a little faded and I just got my car painted so it stands out like a sore thumb.
