Nope, not all, It varies from year to year.
Like all major companies, It is whomever offers them the best deal at contract time.
They may get a smokin' deal on all their product or maybe other perks...
It even varies from paint plant to paint plant.
It all depends on ca$h.
If GM used a specific brand of paint, you can bet the paint company would have it all over their advertising!!!
The paint they use is completely different than the paint you buy, however, so it really is personal preference for you.
Their stuff, I have been told by paint companies, wouldn't even dry in an aftermarket environment. They depend on heat and a controlled atmosphere to flow and cure their paint.
And, although we bake all our paintjobs, GM product has to cure at something like 300 degrees!!!
