245's??
okay here is my story. I had a flat yesterday. I got all 4 new tires on my car.Cooper Cobra's in all 245 /16. now my front wheels ruba on evry turn i make.no, i dont remember what size my old fronts were but they NEVER rubbed. Now i looked on my door to check the sizes and mine is illegible from the years. My friend who has the same exact car as me (year, model and make) .His door stickers says 235's up front with 245's out back? Now i went back to the guy and told him this and he refuses to put different tires on. He says 245's and he aint changing them without me buying the 2 new tires. What can i do?
He says i have 3 choices...he can cut a piece out of the well , let the tire "finnesse" it out of the way or buy the tires. I mean these tires look huge oin the front of my car...

thats just how they are . 245s came stock on my 85 trans am all the way around.Just let them rub . Its probably only at full lock when going backwards or something . Just leave it .Mine used to rub too and they still do with the new rims . Its just that close. If your really nervous about it you can heat the plastic inner fender and move it a littl or buy newer gm inner fenders for the later cars . I guess the later 3rd gens had different plastic inner fenders.

1-mean, i just looked at your cardomain site and if you are still running the stock wheels i know what your prob is. pull ALL of your wheels off and look on the back. you will notice they are marked front or rear from the factory.
the tire shop got them re arranged. rears will cause rubbing if mounted on the front. if you look at a stock formula you will notice the front wheels have morte lip on the front wheels and the rears have less lip. in your case the off sets were done behind the wheel so you have equil lipping on the outside of the wheel and it makes it easier to mis mount the wheels.
this is why i stand RIGHT THERE when i would get tires on my stock wheels.
once a tire guy started reversing the wheels and when i said STOP, that goes on front he looked at me like i was nutz. then i explained and he understood.
