As I recall 245 50 R16 is the factory size on the 16" wheel.

I think you are right about the RS having the 235, I think the Zs came with the 245 series.

245/50
uses a 7-8.5” rim
tread width of 8.7”
overall diameter of 25.7

235/55
7.5” rim
8” tread width
overall diameter of 26.1

I am using 245/50-16 on my Camaro and Formula if that helps.

The 91 and 92 Z28s had the 235/55s standard, the 245/50s were a 400$ option.

Hey CD MaroMan 91:

The stock tire size on your RS was 235/55 R16 if you had the 16" wheel option. I just put a brand new set of Yokohama 235/55R16s on my factory wheels...I might consider selling them...you interested? You'd have to paint the inserts a different color, though...don't think that red would look too good on your car (ha). Check the wheels out at my web site in my sig below.

Me and my dad are gonna head up to some junkyards around here to look for the 91-92 rims this weekend because I want those. If they are too much or pretty close to the price I'm gonna pay for other rims then I'll just go with some different ones but hopefully I can get some in a 16" or 17" size. The junkyards around here have a LOT of rims last time I checked. If I get 16" or 17" rims which size tires would look best? If I get them will my speedo have to be recalibrated or whatever?

guys, his car is a v6.

camaroman, your car came w/ the 15" wheels.
stock size is 215/65R15, good upgrade size is 235/60R15

If his car were a v8, the 16" wheels would be an option. his car then could have come with 235/55R16's.

If it were a Z/28 It would have 245/50ZR16's

remember the 16" wheels were an OPTION on v8 rs models.

changing from a 235/55/16 to a
245/50/16 shouldnt change the tire height enough to really need the recalibration.
235/55/16's were standard on Z's up till either 2001 or 2002, when they finally made the Zrated tires standard on the V8 models.
